Is this weekend very busy with the young Christians weekend. I have never gone on this weekend and will be there early Friday morning.

rubedugans

It has been crowded in the past, and regardless of what many say on here, the weekend will have many polite young Christians, and a few rambunctious young'ens, if you were going simply for rides, prepare for lines.

Even for Friday do you think?

rubedugans

Friday will have Spring Breakers and won't be that bad, so Friday and Sunday will be your prime days-Sunday will have morning events, but not alot in the afternoon. Saturday it will be crowded, but nothing too terrible, unless you want to see the shows that are geared toeards the weekend with special performers etc.

I went on one of the young Christian weekends last year, and I was shocked. It really wasn't that bad. They must not have wanted to do what me and my family was doing...

I remember the reviews about YCW last year, and it did seem to be a painless weekend for most!

Husband took me to SDC today for the day. Well till 2, but that is a day for him! :) The weather was fantastic till about 1pm. As were the crowds and line waits. I found that most of the kids stood in line for the big rides like the roller coasters and TGS. Lost River and Am Plunge were almost walk right onto the ride lines. Minimal waiting. RiverBlast had a non exsistant line. Didnt ride the train. But was at HDH and visited with a citizen named Jim. Very friendly but most are. *CONSTRUCTION NUGGET OF INFORMATION!*I asked about the new ride and he gave me a coy look and said he couldnt tell me anything but check back in the fall. So me being me teased him about hints. And he said, if you keep up with Dollywood and the rides they get we usually get the same ride with a different name. Like they got a giant swing we got a giant swing, they got a river blast we got a river blast.....so I excitedly exclaimed WE ARE GETTING A WILDWING!!!??? And he looked at me and didnt say anything. We discussed wildwing and he gave me one more clue. Whatever kind of ride it may be it will be big. Not the exciting kind of big but and he looked up and said big like the height big.......All in all a good trip. Kiddos were not overbearing the weather couldnt be better. It was nice that GE was halfway empty compared to other visits. It allowed my kid to walk right onto rides or have a short wait. Will we do YCW again? No. There were a few that were spoilers. Like the mamoth of a teen in front of me that literally towered over me in line Lost river. It doesnt take much to be taller than me but this guy was huge! and the line width when you are almos to the boats is skinny. I was almost plowed over. EEEK! Will post a link to pictures soon!

Ozark Outlaw

Awesome trip review Trams! You were brave to venture out this weekend, but it sounds like your risk paid off. It was an absolutely gorgeous day here just south of the Ozarks, and I could only imagine how much more beautiful it was there. I am glad you were able to sweet talk a few tidbits of information out of citizen Jim! It just makes me more, and more excited about how the project will mature. Hopefully next time you won't get plowed over by the Green Giant himself. Thanks for the review! :)

My wife and I made a short, overnight trip to Branson Friday night/Saturday. (3/30-3/31) Young Christians Weekend at SDC and so we did not go to the park, the Branson Inn at Notch (Branson West) Was packed with teen youth groups! We drove past about 8pm Friday, and the house was a-rockin'. SDC appeared busy today. We spent our time in Branson, touring flea markets. Tornado damage clean up is proceeding. I did not take photos because if you have been keeping up with things here, you have seen the photos of places damaged the most. Branson Heights Shopping Center is destroyed, Ozarkland T-Shirts had the roof and top floor ripped off. Several hotels seriously damaged like J.R. Motor Inn, Blue Bayou, Starvin' Marvin's Restaurant, Helicopter Ride location across from Pirate Cove Mini Golf. Hilton in downtown has many windows covered in plywood. We went up to Mount Branson to Candlestick Inn and it was hit hard. So was the neighborhood around Candlestick Inn...several mobile homes and houses were just trashed. The tourist stuff was up and running fine, downtown was busy, the strip was moderately busy, we took a drive down all the side roads, including Fall Creek Road, Gretna Road, Roark Valley Road, Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, across Table Rock Dam, past College of the Ozarks, and things look "on track" and BRANSON IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS! We did stay at Paige's Place, otherwise known as Homestay/Eagles Lodge and got the sdcfans.com discount, got to meet Paige upon renting the room last night. Nice lady, clean and comfortable room. In all, a nice, short trip.  :)

Sounds like a good time Junior. I commented to the wife that I wished we were back at last weekend so we could do it all over again (we were in Branson @ Homestay at this time Sat...)

rube, i found myself today wishing the real same thing..  this early 80 degree weather has really got my SDC fever going!

Paige mentioned she went out with your family to check out a few sights herself! I think she was still tired from running around town with you all!
