SDC Memories/ Park History / Re: Rube Dugin's Diving Bell

^Really?  That's very interesting, because I have heard right from the mouth of Dick Kinzel, CEO of Cedar Fair, that he has been to SFGAdv to ride El Toro and has been to several other SF parks to see rides.  I also know that Brad and several of the Herschend crew went to several parks that had the Screamin' Swings installed at their parks before they installed TGS.

So, not to be mean, but yes parks do talk to other parks about what to add and recommendations.  This business is smaller than you think.

I ride the train every time we go to the park, just so we can say hi to Rusty "Gunner" -- he is the coolest guy to talk to.

Wild Adventure's Waterpark Splash Island has announced their new 2009 attraction will be Kalani Towers, which will be an exact copy of the one put into White Water last season

As far as I know he has always been the park's mascot since the waterpark opened.  I cannot remember what his name is though.  They have a roaming character that comes out sometimes at the park

The front gate area is now complete --- a HUGE HUGE improvement over the old one

They became sister parks when WA was bought by HFEC, but I understand what you are getting at.  I still not convinced a complete retheme will occur here, but it is obvious that things will change in the near future at CC

The mention up above about solar panels is a good one, the only problem is that most of the buildings in the park are shaded by very mature tall trees that block a lot of the sunlight that would reach these roofs.  While that is a good thing for us as it keeps the summer heat from blaring down on us, it would not allow enough direct sunlight to hit the panels to make it worthwhile... that and the panels are very expensive.

The one place that they could install the panels the easiest and would receive the most sunlight would be the Red Gold Heritage Hall

Have they taken care of the bugs in IE7 (the software not this website)?  That's why I use Firefox at home instead of IE, when we downloaded the beta version it screwed everything up.

I honestly don't think they will hide it at all.  It's not like the school is really part of the park anyway as it will be an upcharge.  How is this any different then from the "test school" they did last year in Red Gold?  I see it being a very modern kitchen with country decor in this cabin.  It won't be seen by the "common guest" unless they pay to take the classes.

back to the topic -- McFarlands is a GOOD example of declining food quality while raising prices.

Yes this video is under investigation as are a few others.  Ride & Safety does not take these things lightly

The arena floor is not even close to where you eat.  Also they use "dust-less" dirt in the arena, so you don't even have that worry about.

DS is a lot of fun and if you have not attended it lately you are really missing out.  The food is excellent and the entertainment is wonderful and will keep your interest.  The only way you won't have a good time is if you force yourself to have a bad one by having a bad attitude even before you get there.... which is just silly.

I recommend it -- and so does Dolly  ;)

They build all of their rides that go into the parks.  They built TGS last year with S&S overseeing construction, they built PowderKeg, again with S&S overseeing construction -- shoot they even built WildFire
