mmmmmm.  sounds good, and that would be fresh made.... as opposed to some of the bulk they buy from outside source.

Have a Great day!

Left the house today at 7 am and met my Father and his lady friend and her guest at 9 am. We had 2 BAF to get her and her friend in and with a stroke of luck someone approached my Dad and asked him if he needed a BAF.  That saved him a lot of money since he didn't have buy any tickets. I would like to think that my helping strangers get in in the past was returned to me today. We went in and grabbled a kolochki ( sp) and headed down to Wildfire.  My Dad is 63 and wanted to ride all the coasters. We rode all but Powder Keg as the line was running all the way to the start of the entrance with only 1 car running. My Dad was very disappointed that we didn't get to ride that.  No line for Wildfire at all 2 cars running.  We rode the train and boy what a drop for that coaster, it is 81 degrees, looks like it will take a beautifully banked turn back towards the lift hill.  I spoke with a unnamed source who said there will be a tunnel although it will be very short. I saw no evidence of it riding the train but its tough to make out much through the trees.
We did stop at the Mountain Taffy booth at the exit of FITH to get the Apple Dumpling and they were closed.  I was let down by this as it was what I was really looking forward to.  For lunch we split a succotash, it was $8.xx with the pass discount and was very good.  In all my years at SDC I had never tried this and was satisfied even though it is pretty pricey for what it is.
We were out of the park by 1 and really enjoyed our half day. No shows at all with the exception of the cloggers at the square.  I know if it kidsfest and I know that those kids really are great at what they do but I miss not having music on the square during kidsfest.......Just my opinion.  The music helps to set the mood.  I would think they could restore the music and have the cloggers at another outdoor or indoor location.
They did have all the tents set up for the kids but it didn't seem to be as crowded as in the past.  I was very happy they did not have the demoninc children cut outs all over. In my minds eye they looked very cheap.  In Dollywood they have the people made of clay pots and that was fun, I would love to see them in SDC.
The decorations consisted mostly of the factoid signs and some banners.  The change was pleasing.
I did stop into the taffy store and will happily report they WERE MAKING TAFFY!!!.  They were making a point to tell you when the machine would actually be running.  Samples of the red white and blue taffy they were making were being given away.  THey were interested in your opinion of how it tasted.  The colors of taffy were layered red/shite/blue so it looked good and the 3 colors were each flavored differently. I have to admit I told them it was great but I didn't really taste much flavor too it.  I am really just happy they are using the machine.  We were talking about the taffy and thought that if they just made the taffy a Cherry flavor that it would be appropriate as its the colors of the flag. ( America and Cherry Pie) It would probably be a lot easier on them as well but as I said.  They are really trying and that is GREAT NEWS.
Why are they not running the train with the new cars?  I havent seen it out at all this year.

Final thoughts
Please run 2 trains on PowderKeg.
Please run 2 arms on the swing.
Please always offer the Apply Dumpling.
Please resore a live band to the bandstand during kidsfest. Maybe even a kids bluegrass band.
Please keep those wooden cut out kids in storage indefinitely.
Rode AP for the first time in years today, the dude in the water is completely submerged and the Whirlpool wasn't working, it just looked like the dog was trying to pull his dead master out of the water..... kind of sad.
The plants and flowers look wonderful.
The new coaster guarantees my purchase of another Seasons Pass.
The girl that was hocking the refillable drink cups outside the Hospitality house reminded me of a carnival barker ( Cheap)
........................also why aren't they just an even amount like $13 not $ 13.87?  wouldn't that move things along quicker?
Love eating the warm samples of brittle at the candy store.

Please remove the people trying to sell me timeshare from the property, is was crappy when Disney started that and even crappier when SDC let them in the gates of their park.  The company isn't even SDC property, keep this outside the gates of the park.  This is an outside company interloping on my SDC trip.
......................I wonder if they ever do give away those prises they promise someone is gonna win, and how often?

Here's looking forward to another great trip to SDC.

There's nothing I hate more than when they only run 1 train on PK, TNT, or Wildfire on a busy day... During World Fest they ran THREE on PK and it really would have been fine if they only ran 2! I don't quite understand the way they do the train car stuff.... TNT never has 2 running but every now and then they put a second train on but not as often as they should... and Wildfire normally has 2 but sometimes they will only run 1 and the line gets super long... They need to run two on every ride during Kidsfest!!

I kinda chalked it up to getting back what you put out.  I am really happy other people do give away the
BAFs. No sense it letting them go to waste.  You enjoy that dumpling Sandune, let me know how you like it. :)

Howdy ya'll. I wasn't sure where to put my initial post on this forum and this looked like as good a place as any.

My wife and I live in Nixa,MO and have been frequenting SDC fairly often for about the last 12 years or so. We both grew up around the Springfield/Nixa area and both of us had visited the park a few times while growing up; but began walking through the gates much more often after meeting each other and realizing we both loved the place, for the most part.

I stumbled upon this forum while searching around the internet for info regarding the new coaster, and just looking at overall opinions and reports about SDC from people all over.

I've really enjoyed reading most of the topics on this site about other folks experiences and opinions on different apsects of the City; and I look forward to posting about some of my visits as well.

We usually make it through the gates around 10-15 times per year (sometimes more, like this year); being 25 minutes from the place makes it pretty easy and we like to go on sunday mornings mostly.  The constantly changing festivals is a big draw for us.

See ya'll!

Hubs and I made it to the park on Sunday.  A very quick trip - so I don't have a lot to report.  We were on a mission - to see the Wallenda Flying Circus act - and that's it!  We got there earlier than planned (seriously, how often does that really happen??)  So...we stopped off at Delilah's for hub's favorite cinnamon roll.  Holy cow!  Sometimes they are good and sometimes...not so much.  Sunday they were perfection - must have come right out of the oven!!  Yum!  From there we headed over to the Opera House and found....no line at all! So, we did a little walking around and returned to walk right into the Opera House.  The Wallenda Circus show was great!  I highly recommend it!  After the show we were suppose to leave the park, but with hubs in tow we had to make a stop at the wood carvers shop so he could talk "wood carvin').  From there, we headed straight out of the park as we had jet skiing to do, but we didn't leave without a sarsaparilla in each hand.  The weather was great, the crowds weren't nearly as bad as a week ago (we were out of the park by 12:30), and I can't wait for the next trip to roll around.

I don't have a whole lot to say this time about my trip last weekend. It was definitely a good one. I caught almost all the shows except for the bubble one that just kind of looked lame. The saloon show was definitely the best, although the Wallenda's were pretty good too. Luma was just kinda meh - the jokes and story line were corny and terrible, and the whole dancing with lights thing kinda got old pretty quick. The pickers are still the best music in the park.

Getting in an hour early as a season pass holder was pretty great, although I didn't remember they were doing this in time on Saturday morning.

Lots of new signage again this year. Some of it may have been from previous years and I just forgot. I noticed some in the base of Thunderation's lift that must be fairly new. Some of the new signage I noticed looked a lot better than some of the other new stuff they've been putting out. I think they've been listening to our suggestions.

The food was OK. I had a burger at the Wagonworks one meal, and a BBQ sandwich at the ribhouse for another, as well as strawberrys and ice cream. It was all pretty good, not exceptional, but just getting to be too expensive.

Rides were all good as well. I only noticed one ride closure the whole weekend, and that was FITH for a brief spell on Saturday evening. They were putting a new train car on the tracks by the train barn, and there were several new cars in operation on both trains.

Made a quick pass to the park this mornging... things I noticed... Dont k now if they have been mentioned...

When pulling up to reserved parking, new gaurd shack there...

How long has the slushy/cotton candy shack been between the train depot and HDH?? I just noticed it today. (no pics)

Rode the train twice, got a bunch of pics of new project, i think  swoosh? shave? is right after the lift there is a small dip and then a rise, the 2nd rise does NOT appear to be as tall as the lift, new track is not all the up lift yet..  they are building right next to, (almost on top of) Hobo Jct.~  i will get pics posted soon... going back monday AM for another quick hit, try to get more pics...

Noticed when i rode the train (2 times) they were uusing different jokes and threats..  nice to see some change between rides.. ;D

took pic of new pintrader location, looks nice..

out of there by 11:15, went to ride the showboat, park still was not too busy yet at that time....
