General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2025 Season Passes
« on: October 08, 2024, 11:20:06 AM »
Renewal seems to be live on the website, I haven't gone all the way through it, but it is showing pass prices

Silver $135
Gold: $195
Diamond: $255

I don't see the details for what the perks are for each pass level, but it shows 7baf and 2 white water baf for diamonds(and all day mug), 5 baf for gold(and all day mug), and 1 baf for silver. It does not show the dates for any of those BAF.

it has a 10 month payment plan as an option

Given that tickets are now like $92 for a day ticket, I’m expecting passes to go up $15-$20 over last years rates, maybe a little more for gold/diamond.

Somewhere I heard the renewal price is going to be 10% less than the starting price.

New teaser trailer was posted on Facebook

It has the date of the big announcement and a short drone clip of the woods/hills to the west of the park looking east to where you can see outlaw run and powder keg or wildfire(I think it was wildfire but wasn’t 100% sure)

I love the idea of the resort including a theater. A lumberjack dinner theater would be nice, but even just a standard theater that could host a variety of shows would be great.

Yeah… I’m still shocked it went through… regulators were asleep on the job.

Sure Disney and universal see more guests, but six fairs now has such a dominant percentage of the regional theme park market. Many markets it’s the only player.

What I think we. will see:
path/traffic flow improvements, repair/replacement of a few small things here and there(possible expansion of mobile ordering), they will really focus hype on the new festival replacing Street Fest. possibly a new summer show.

maybe some work on the entrance plaza area

Does Flarum have a way to react to posts without commenting?

I frequently want to thank people for a post or just give them a thumbs up, but don’t have anything substantial to say in a comment.

I too enjoy perusing the archives. And having some discussions with fellow fans away from the mess on Facebook fan groups.

I appreciate that even though we don’t all agree here we can do so respectfully and have good discussions about a park we love.

Some alternative train robbery shows, it would be really fun if they had different versions that tied into the festivals.

More street performers.

Scavenger hunts.(a new one for each festival)

An augmented reality tour or tours of the park(you could have a history one, a behind the scenes, numbers geeks…) that would work from within the app and as you approach a certain part of the park it would launch a short audio clip telling you about that area.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Next new ride, next to go?
« on: April 20, 2024, 09:05:49 PM »
I’m really hoping for an omnimover ride or a trackless ride. But I don’t know that either of those are very likely.

I think they have 1-2 moderate projects(retracking thunderation could be one) then a resort, then a new area.

It doesn’t mean they can’t make a bigger train station, it’s possible they remake the flooded mine in a new location and then have room for an expanded train station.

I’d also like to see something done for the train station/line. I know it’s usually only really bad at Christmas but it makes everything in that area so congested.

Looking at the new fire district on the map and after seeing it in person, it sure seems like the pathway outside of fire in the hole was built with a future expansion in mind.

I’m thinking it’s set for future expansion of a connection to outlaw run/hi low silos area. Obviously there are backstage buildings in that area that would have to be relocated. It’s possible this could go all the way through next to the opera house to make a big loop.

My other thought is that it could be a future back entrance for resort guests.

That path over to outlaw run would be big enough to be a whole new land/district. If they are adding a new district what would you like to see?

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Nathan’s hotdogs
« on: March 30, 2024, 07:58:04 PM »
Help an old guy out and let me know if I’m losing my mind. They used to have Nathan’s hotdogs for the hotdogs, pretzel dogs and tater twists, right?

I remember in years past at the hot dog places them having signage proclaiming that they used Nathan’s hotdogs, I didn’t see that this year and the pretzel dog I had was definitely not a Nathan’s dog. It wasn’t bad but just didn’t have the flavor of Nathan’s.

Construction/Rumors / Festival survey
« on: February 29, 2024, 10:14:13 PM »
Got a survey today with 2 festival options they are looking at to replace street fest.
Most of the questions I got focused on the flower and food fest, then they showed the great America exhibition and asked which one I preferred.

I’m a huge fan of street fest so it going away is rough. I was hoping with it going away they’d bring back world fest. Out of these two I’d prefer the flower and food, but I’d really like something more like street fest or world fest.

Do you think the park will tear down the FITH building this spring or leave it standing for the 2024 season?

I’m not sure. They usually seem to have a leave it till they need to remove it approach, but it feels like it would be good for them to get it down in the offseason to help shift the focus to the new fith. It also probably depends on the timeline for what will go there. If they want whatever they are putting in that space to open in 2025 then it would seem like they do some or all of the demo this offseason.

My guess is the building stays up and gets demolished in Jan-March of 2025 and we see something new in that area in 2026. That said, I wouldn’t be shocked if it is gone before then.
