Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2019 Project(s) and Park Developments
« on: January 24, 2019, 07:27:36 AM »
They said they would have some announcements all year long this year, mostly about 2020...

I am guessing they are finally getting a new tree? Can't imagine what else they could stuff into Christmas at SDC.

Yep.  New tree.  Finally.

Yep, new tree.
You know they have to do some added promotions for this year... Tree, New EH, New Shows and other things to entice SP buyers for 2019..
That way they wont take a hit on loss SP sales for people waiting for big event in 2020

I was in the area today for work so I decided to take a little detour and cruise the strip.  It was a ghost town, but even at that, still got stuck behind somebody going about 20mpg.  I dont know why people suddenly forget how to drive once they get out there.  I ate lunch at the Grand Country and there were about 2 other people in there with me.

LOL..!!  ;D ;D
Sounds like a great visit...
You know traffic is ALWAYS vicious on 76.. ::) ::)

Maybe we did and I missed it, but I kind of wish we got some sort of warning or foreshadow that LR would be demolished/taken out. For some people, LR is their favorite ride and it's probably sad for them to come to the park and it all of a sudden be gone or not get their last ride on it.

I thought the same thing originally, but no matter what people would be upset about the ride closing so I don’t think it actually matters much if they announce it closing or not.

Keep in mind they did not close the ride early...
they finished the season,
when Old time Christmas started,
they boarded it up and started the Dozers>!!

Just keep it mainly a dark ride with some coaster sections, not just another indoor roller coaster in the dark.

I agree Cowboy.
FITH is NOT an indoor roller coaster...it is a DARK RIDE with coaster elements. I truly hope that when it gets rebuilt it will not be an indoor roller coaster.

To the PTB: PLEASE DO FITH JUSTICE AND DO NOT RIP IT OF ITS SOUL!

I totally agree. Just to drop in another outdoor coaster and give it the  FITH name would be a injustice. Keep it a dark ride totally using modern technology.

This!

No VR and I really don't want to see 3D glasses

you guys are getting all worked up a project that hasnt even been announced yet.. :)
But I am sure thay whatever they do, whenever they do it..

there wont be any 3D glasses invloled!!  LOL
they wont build a new coaster and name it FITH.
Will it be a Dark ride?  Maybe..

But it wont happen for what i would guess ninmum3-5 years..   lets finish the new ride first, then finish the boardwalk area,  and Riverfront Theatre

I think the AP will be the next ride we lose..

Agreed. This is when I like to get out and visit some of the attractions that I haven't done in a few years. Local discounts and area appreciation are wonderful deals.

Legends in Concert is off in January but starts back up sometime in February.

I believe they start back up on February 9 if I remember what the sign said. Tribute theater will also start running shows again about the same time. Billy Bob's, Godfathers, Fall Creek Restaurant, and Uptown Cafe all close or operate under reduced hours until February usually as well.

I enjoy this time down here. It makes for a nice prolonged recovery after the insanity that is tourist season.

I really like Branson this time of year.., off season is great.

We have 14-15” here in Jeff City.  The snow has stopped falling for now, but supposed to start back up here in an hour.  Fulton has close to 18” and the school I teach at has around 17”.  We’ll see if we have school on Monday.  With so many rural roads, I highly doubt it
