@MH,  yes the exit ramp is the entrance access for handicap....

I wondered about beverage/concession area,
But there would/should be water lines in that area also.. and there isnt..  (for now anyway).
They could be added later...

Looks like it won't be a huge shop, not that it could be or needs to be. Wonder why it needs 4 sewer taps. Not a lot of room if people are going to have to move through it after exiting and stop to look at photos. Always looks smaller before it gets formed though.

Does look small, but will grow when framed in as you said..

Sewer taps? Hmm? that is odd.
employee restrooms?  I doubt it...
the center one may be a floor drain?
that is an odd configuration for sure.

Maybe next year, they could review the man hours it took them to set up midtown this year and instead of working at night or on days when the park is closed, they could just wall off that section for a couple of weeks and work around the clock to get that area done. That way people can enjoy that section as normal as possible up until the last minute. I haven't seen it in person to see how it looks, but fall is one of my favorite times at the City and I always thought the park was at it's best then.

I dont think it looks that bad, considering the end result.
Boarding off the area and closing it off, would look much worse.. IMHO.. :)

I'm excited to see the pay off. Sure does gum up midtown with all this hardware all over the place, but I don't know of any other way to do it. I've been thinking a lot about the way they put up Christmas lights and how I wish there were a simpler way, but I haven't come up with it yet. I'm sure they spend a LOT of time thinking and talking about it.

No doubt the "payoff" will be awesome..   I hope the response by the public is what the PTB expect it to be.

Sand, I thought something was mentioned last year about New Years Eve at the City. I know I heard it somewhere, because Hubs and I were looking forward to it.

I could not get any other details either,,

I did tell them IF that was true....SDC better start advertising it.!!

So, while I was in town this weekend, I talked to a couple of people close to the SDC family. I was told they are actually having a NYE party at the city for the public, was told they are going to bring in "The New Year"..??

According to the schedule they are closing at 7 pm on NYE day, and 8pm new years day..

Has anyone here heard anything about extended hours on NYE?

I think the station is the only thing left to watch at this point, so I wouldn't go to much more trouble than getting a couple shots from TNT's queue or the porch.

Still a lot of time left for them to dress the station and surrounding area up. I'm curious to see how much effort they'll put into the exterior. They don't often disappoint, and Fireman's Landing had a lot of great little details so they still know how to do it.

yes lots of time yet,  I am still confident they will theme the building and queue very nicely.. I still expect to see some kind of "structure" inside the building as you walk upstairs.......  maybe a time machine/capsule??

It does look like there will be windows out the back of the building on the queue levels. Still not close to something like WF though.

Yes on the 2nd level of the queue building there are postcard windows that look out towards the first drop

Nice, surprised they didnt put up large plate glass windows.. so you could really see whats going on..

Spellcheck on my phone switched words on me and I didn't catch it.  I meant PICTURE windows

OK.  Well that does make a difference.  LOL...  ((Love that autospell!))

^Can you be more careful when you quote?  You have a bad habit of deleting part of the code

Maybe..?   ???

I will watch that..

But typically I try to only copy and quote the part of the statement I am responding too.
