I dont see that happening, UNLESS there is a major climate change.
Too cold and chances of snow for too long Dec - April.
I doubt that enough people would go to make payroll, let alone overhead.
No Rides, only a couple of show to keep people interested, dont see it happening.

When I rode Outlaw Run in May I didn't find it horrible and there doesn't seem to be many complaints on this board or the other Branson websites. But Ross Hudson on the RMC Connoisseurs Facebook page gave it horrible reviews yesterday.

Comparing Outlaw Run to Hades, saying OR is non rideable, will not be back, etc. (not that we care if Ross comes back or not). Joe Wendel from SDC got on the thread to defend the ride, maintenance crews, park, etc....as well as most of the other people in the 80 comments.

I personally find the ride very enjoyable and intense in it's current state and think SDC does a fine job maintaining such a forceful wooden coaster. You guys feel the same or do you think Ross has a legitimate gripe?

Jay

Agreed..

Remember..  a "review"  is the same as an "opinion"..   They are going to vary, and you are not going to agree all the time..

Those are some great pictures..  love the Semi trailer, just sitting there.  Looks like a Demo trailer..  they may be throwing excess steel parts into it for disposal..

Good to hear they could salvage the Duplicating Lathe, and even better news they are going to reopen that soon.

QuoteYou're thinking of it as a dead end.  It'll be a new loop.  Better guest flow
Another corkscrew?  Or a pedestrian tunnel?  Wouldn't seem like they would want to man another crossing.

I would expect to see a simple wide overhead bridge kicking out NE behind Opera House over the tracks tied to the sidewalk between the silos and Outlaw Run.  There is already a maintenece road there, so they will have to deal with that small detail.

It was a mess on Friday night when the warning went through. All of us were waiting for them to call for a phase 3 (take shelter) but they called it several minutes after everyone got the warning, which caused panic. It was difficult to fit 15,000 people in the shelter places, with 250 people being crammed beneath the marketplace. I'm hoping with their infrastructure plan(s) that they put more shelters in place, I think this year with Wildfire's roof being damaged and Friday is a wake-up call to them

Yeah I recall you currently work there? I really do hope too they take these recent close calls as a hint to take better precautions in the event the worst case scenario one day happens. It wasn't long ago Branson itself had a tornado go right down the strip but thankfully it was during the off season. Yes the likelihood is considered a rare probability but it can still happen at any time of the year.

The Olde English Inn in Hollister
Of course The Meyer's Group in Springfield own the Best Westerns and a few others in Branson

As a group we get a gaurantee rate at Hall Of Fame.  50.00 per night, total.
     No pool
No breakfast since they lost their office building in the Fire.
Owner is An American Veteran, and they do a real good job. (it is where we stay)
If you want to stay, Call 417-332-2121, talk to Michele

Any thoughts on December 15th and 16th? (Wednesday/Thursday)

That close to Christmas are those days likely to be crazy?

Unless the weather is horrible I assumed 17th/18th will be insane with it being the last weekend before the holiday.

those days wont be bad, school is still in session..

^ I don't think they've said yet.  They need to because that could be the difference on deciding on a Silver Pass or a higher priced pass for the VIP events.

LOL, interesting to be promised something for additional money, BUT not have any idea what it is you are supposed to get..

If I recall correctly the After 3 policy ended after the 2018/2019 season. Same for Dollywood.

That was my understanding also..    And I am sure they didnt do after 3 during OTC,  since they dont open until 1 or so anyway..

One thing I noticed this weekend was that a couple of the nicer water features were turned off. The stream that flows down hill toward the gun/knife shop wasn't running, and the small water wheel by Powderkeg wasn't running. I am used to seeing them off during Christmas, but not during the fall. I hope this is temporary...those little features add a lot to the park.

4800.00 per night :o :o
I live 4 hours away, for 4800 per night you can stay on my rural amercia farmstead in Eastern Kansas, I will fire up the Town Car and I will drive you back and forth!! ::) ::)

Expect HUGE crowds this weekend. It's Oklahoma's Fall Break and I'm doing a last minute search for hotels, rentals, etc. for my family and there are not many options left (especially Friday night). Thousand Hills will not let you search for rooms this weekend...I did find some things for $4000+ a night (I do not have that kind of cash).

Anyway, should be a big crowd in Branson this weekend.

Jay

Jay, call michelle or Lori at 417-332-2121, they may have a lead to rooms available...  thats their business..

tell them your with me and SDCfans...   that will either save you some money or cost you double!!!

It's kind of hard to imagine we are going to lose Lost River, FITH, Train Station, FM and probably AP within a 10 year period.  Who would have thought that just a few years back.

All about ROI.
