It is a huge Loss, she Loves the PArk and what it stands for,
All of the people she has networked with through the years,
All of the sources she has cultivated relationships with..
losing her could be easily compared to losing Brad Thomas, if he were to move on.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: food trucks at the city

that will be different for sure,
Indications are vendors from local businesses, thats good,
Hopefully they are in that 1 area, will not take away from Ambience of the Park.
Gaurantee you, The City is getting a bigger piece of the action..!
So stay positive and see how it is,
BUT!!<
The Flip side is I hate to see it,
Food trucks have just about taken over Branson!! ,
LOL
seems like more food trucks on the corners than the people begging for money..!

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2023 Project(s) and Park Developments

I was in Branson this weekend. did a drive by on Indian Point.. They are moving a mountaion of dirt. the road, both parking lots south of the "preferred parking" check in ar all gone and are being leveled out. This area reaches clear to the west where thar smal gravel area was. This is a massive undertaking for additional parking, I dont see how they can possibly have this area done in 30 days. Time will tell, and should be interesting to see.. Also on 76 west past the work areas, there appears to be the new employee living area.. 1 floor enclosed, looks like elevators on both ends of this building and will be 3 or 4 floors tall.. Further west, the old "mansions" have been leveled, and prelim dirt work and partial street is in process.. No pics this time.. but expect to see huge changes at the parking area...

Hey how busy is SDC these days on actual Labor Day? I understand the weekend itself is generally busy but was wondering about actual Monday.
Monday is a lower traffic day, most people travel home on that day.. Great day to visit.

I tried out the Outback Roadhouse on my last trip in October... I won't recommend it...
What about Honeysuckle?
The Dutton Inn has good reviews.
I really liked Lodge of the Ozarks, but I know they run a bit higher.
stayed at honeysuckle 10-12 years ago.. is was good then, but thats about the time "WE" started staying at Home Stay..
Dutton Inn does have good reviews, havent read anything bad about them..
I do Like the Bransinn, new out of town owners, good staff, clean, big rooms, great breakfast, IF you call Michelle the rate is 72.00.. may other options also.. give her a call @ 417-332-2121

Where does everyone stay these days? Are there any good locally-owned hotels left? Lodge of the Ozarks is locally-owned, but it's out of my price range.
I cant think of any, hall of fame, and Ozark Valley both sold this year to outside sources..
Michelle at all access tied me into Bransinn on Green Mountain,
not locally owned,
but good staff,
big rooms,
BIG brekafast,
flat parking lot,
interior corrider for privacy and secruity.
havent had any problems there, stayed 4 or 5 time..
you might call her..

Read in a recent issue of Branson Tri-Lakes News that this motel has been sold to a developer who is converting it to more permanent lodging. It's the same developer who bought the nearby Angel Inn and converted it.
yes infortunately thast is true.. they stopped doing "retail" reservations the first of August I believe.
Too Bad, another locally owned company selling to outside developers...
Wait and see if it pans out or not, Angel Inn isnt open yet to Extended stay yet,.,.

You are joking right? You think anyone will want to ride it again? I expect it to be closed the rest of the year and I don't think it will reopen until they get new cars and do some PR and finish an investigation to show it is safe.
I for one, will be on it, IF it is running my next trip.
Perfect example of
"If it has T*** or Tires, you goin to have problems with it"
It was an accident,
find out the truth why,
repair the problem, move on.

In order for that to be feasible, there would need to be year-round interest in Branson as a destination. I'm certainly not local, so I can't pretend to be an expert, but I don't get the sense that there's a ton of interest in coming to Branson during January/February. If Branson itself won't draw people then, I don't picture SDC being any different.
We always go to Branson in January and February, Much better chance to see and do local activities, check out new businesses and the traffic is almost non-existent.
Grand Country Complex have shows going on , so we go see Mike Patrick and the guys and Gals.
We really like that time of the year.
That being said, Unless SDC had something really special, or had multiple show options, I dont see people going out there during that time. Rides would be closed 80% of the tiome for weather.

There will be an investigation,
really hope it doesnt stop train from the Christmas Run,
Seeing Granpa and hearing the story is one of the best thing about SDC Christmas.
Prayers to all involved, Hopefull the "Bad" cases, arent really that bad.

SDC now owns the land that the abandoned homes are on.
https://www.ozarksfirst.com/local-news/regional-news/branson-news/silver-dollar-city-officially-owns-former-indian-ridge-property-where-abandoned-condos-sit/
Good for them.....
Maybe 1 step close to the ever elusive "Water Park" and Onsite Motel/Hotel..
