I'm sure they didn't cut us out. With that many Season Pass holders it just takes a while to do a mass mailing. (I'm telling that to you and myself as well!)

« on: June 29, 2011, 07:04:37 PM »I could only find one photo published by SDC in 1978 taken inside the saloon that shows just a portion of the old painting that "covered itself" when Carrie Nation threatened to throw her axe through it. It is in the upper right corner of the photo on my Flickr site. Next to it is a photo I took in the saloon last week that shows the current painting of a woman looking at an Ozarks landscape that replaced it.

They're getting way too "politically correct"! What's next- instead of shooting the Bolins the conductor from the train captures them then tries to rehabilitate them?

If you could add something new to the menu at SDC what would it be? I'd love to see them offer a steak dinner. There used to be one at the restraunt that is now the Wagon Works Grill. I remember my wife and I sitting down to a steak dinner there with a baked potato and side salad. I wish they'd bring that back. Anything else needed to be added to SDC's menus?

Yes, the SDC website had a panoramic camera view from that location. Wasn't a web cam done in real time, though.

The concept piece I linked to a while back shows that they are probably sniffing around new show concepts - I doubt that guy designed that piece just for the fun of it. There's certainly demand for it too, and I know Dollywood just put a lot of work into some new shows recently that probably paid off for them.
With the new log hewing craftsman coming in, there's obviously still some interest in new crafts too, so maybe we'll see more of that come in.

As much as I anticipate a new ride I would be just as happy next year if they brought back a "re-vamped" show like the Melvin the Chicken Thief show, the Boxing Show or one of the older Saloon shows.
