Construction/Rumors / Re: SDCís 2022 Project(s) and Park Developments

^ You may be right but why would they need a privacy fence for that?  I agree they would need to put a safety fence up to keep visitors away from any construction but if it's not some kind of ride why the need for a privacy fence?  Of course they may have just had extra slats and put them to use LOL

I'm still curious if we'll see any signs for FITH's rumored demise this year. You'd think they would make an announcement of some sort by summer/early fall if they are indeed tearing it down/rebuilding it.

So far, there still don't appear to be any obvious signs at either FITH or the rumored new location.

Given the sharp rebound in tourism and the zeal at which HFEC is still pursuing investments, I think there's a chance any big plans for 2022/23 are back on track. Given their usual pace, starting this fall means it would still be 2023 before the new FITH would open at the earliest, if they are still doing that.

I'm just feeling way more bullish on things than I was even a few months ago. I'm excited to see the evolution of the park continue. Let's just hope they don't try any more "world's biggests/firsts" on this project and focus on reliability and throughput.

Amen!  Keep it a coaster that families can ride!  My kids love of coasters came about directly from riding FITH.  And keep the Baldknobbers theme.  This and the flooded mine are probably the most iconic rides at the City.  Well those and the Frisco Silver Dollar Line.

^ The SDC website shows a new Sagebrush Sadie saloon show beginning April 15h at the Boatworks theatre!  If anyone sees the show give us a report.  Yeehaw!

Tentatively planning for the 20th, several work and health issues pending.

Hope the health issues aren't too bad my friend.

Well it does take you back to the 80's. The 1980's as far as website layout goes.

^ LOL!!!!!

This is an old topic but the SDC website is the worst I've ever seen it.  Horrible to navigate, broken links, nothing about festivals or shows.  I wonder if they have a web designer listing in their job opportunities?  Hmmm  ;)

Confirmed No Indoor Shows through at least the spring festivals

Thanks for the update though I would have been surprised if they DID have indoor shows during the spring.

I wouldnt mind a rewrite of The Pinkerton Man...  But it needs to be an hour show.

I agree Sanddune!  That was a great show.

^ I hear and agree with you somewhat but they did need to put in another water ride after taking Lost River out.  But I do agree they could have spent less by making it more like Lost River and using the money for repairing existing rides.  Hindsight is 20/20 I guess ( and we all know how 2020 went  :P)

^ That was a good one.  I also miss 'Hoedown" which I think was Terry Saunder's return to SDC show from being on "Hee Haw".  I believe it debuted in 1990- I mean 1890  :)

^ I would guess the elevator lift.  I know it had issues this year.

^ Only if it's going away for good.   :(

Since, as Swoosh pointed out, the board has been quiet I thought I'd ask the question if you could bring back one show at SDC (or create a new one) what would it be?  I would have to go with bringing back the Melvin the Chicken Thief show since I remember all the laughs in that one.  Kind of politically incorrect but certainly not offensive.  What would you bring back (or create)?

Wow!  That's one of the best Christmas presents I can think of from SDC: making Thunderation rideable again!  I do get in 1 ride on it each trip but that's all I could handle with the rib-breaking bumps.  Thanks Swoosh!

It used to be the Mile-High cream pies they had at Mary's Pie shop at SDC.  After each visit to SDC we get an email to take a survey asking about our visit and during the food portion it asks for suggestions and I always tell them how I'd love to see the pies return to SDC (along with an offering of a steak dinner at SDC).
