I guess the Filet of Fish is now their top sandwich.  :D   Those are amazing pictures, Rube!  Could you take excursions on the riverboat?

The St. Louis suburb I live in had a caboose in the back of the McDonalds near the playground (next to the Golden Arches and the "Now Serving #_ _ _" that would be changed as the restaurant sold more burgers. ) where parties would be held. I would love to know what happened to that caboose

Maybe a family of hobos moved in and their grandpa constantly takes an outside shower.  :D

Great pictures, Junior!  1969 was my first year at SDC too.

It's so hot I saw the "Far Cheef"'s dog chasing a cat and they were both walking.

10. It’s so hot, the saloon gals now wear bikinis

Duh, I was thinking the way to get folks into the Saloon show was to bring back an older show.  #10 would work much better!  I'd buy a Show Lovers Pass!  ;)

I still miss "Piano Pete" from the old days at Hannah's.  I was wondering if anyone from this site has been in the upper floor of the Hotel/Hannah's?  If so what's it like up there?  I've seen "street shows" where citizens come out the door of the upper rooms.

Two options...

Shoot it at the sensor on each boat....

The other one I know of raises your score...but I am not telling that one!

Sounds like a new game: "What in the Mine?"  :D

Next we headed to the Flooded Mine, and unfortunately our guns did not reset upon entrance into the mine/ ride.

Seems like I heard before there is a trick you can do to make your gun reset but I can't remember what it is.  Does anyone else know?

This has the potential of being one of the most fun jobs in the park.  I'd think you could come up with lots of great one liners and responses to questions.  I realize this is a safety position, but the person could become a pretty good (and memorable) character.

They dress a "prisoner" in something that looks like a manquien (sp?)- something like Terry as the scarecrow. He/she could "come to life" as people come up to the crossing.  The scarecrow bit is always a crowd pleaser.  :D

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Passionate or overdoing it??
« on: July 29, 2011, 05:44:27 PM »
I was thinking of the difference between passionate and overdoing it.  Passionate means you absolutely love SDC, wish you were there always, and when you are there never wishing you were somewhere else.  Overdoing it would be missing it so much you dress up like Alf Bolin, rob an Amtrak train then hope they put you in a prison that floods so you can try to escape.  :D

How were the lines for the rides?  Moonlight Madness has the same scenario as Spring Break Days because most of the shops are closed and there's very few shows going on.  That can make for some pretty long wait times on the rides.

A local Little Rock radio show used to call his house "Fort Cantrell" because of the road it was on and the wall surrounding the house.  I too remember all the red Christmas lights.

just wanted to detail so a.) I don;t forget the happenings, and b.) in case anyone wanted to know more about something we saw/ did.

No shows were in session this day unfortunately, we more than likely would have hit up the dog show, or high wire act to cool off, and see some great entertainment...but nope!

You'll have to try to go back and catch the Lumberjack Show in the fall.  I know I'm looking forward to it!  Glad you had a great time and (hopefully) got more pictures for "Where in the City"!

Yeah, sometimes it seems no one can make you angrier than your family.
