Got some photos today.

What's the "federal government" sign in the first photo? Corps of Engineers boundary?

I wouldn’t think so since it’s so far from the lake.
At one point the FDIC purchased the land before selling it. I’m guessing that it relates to that time period.

Got some photos today.

For reference, this is what it looked like before. Appears as if trees were cleared, but doesn't look like any actual dirt work has happened yet.

I believe that it is this area circled in red.

Updated progress on the new rentals building.

If one were to try and see the cleaning, where is the best place to get a view of it?
I know where we are discussing, just not sure where there is a good view of it from.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: The Heart of the Ozarks tagline
« on: July 13, 2024, 08:30:16 AM »
They started using it earlier this season. Also, they used “in the heartland” in all of the fire in the hole releases/events quite a bit. With the Ozark Mtns being used with the logo too they are really distancing themselves from Branson. Just like how Big Cedar does.

Branson Talk / Re: OYO/Classic Motor Inn closed
« on: June 27, 2024, 04:59:17 PM »
Branson has a huge gap in lodging for people that want a nicer hotel and are willing to pay more for it, but don't want Big Cedar's prices. This is the sweet spot that something like the DreamMore and HeartSong Lodge style of resort would fill. Big Cedar has continued to raise rates and take away/started charging for stuff that used to be included. We get much better service and a better experience at the DreamMore than we have ever gotten at Big Cedar.

Our family can't wait for SDC to finally announce and build their resort(s). As locals, we would for sure use it for a few staycations a year.

Other Parks / The Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks

Coaster construction has begun at the new theme park being built at Lake of the Ozarks.

Anyone know what makes and models they are putting in?

There is construction near the entrance. It is where the rental tents have been since 2020. I’m guessing it is a new area for rentals.

As a confirmed member of the Not In Miss Mary's Day club, I'd like to see the signs be hand painted again, and not computer printed.

They replaced quite a few sings this season and they are hand painted.

Not SDC, but WW....

The wave pool LED screen has been replaced.
There will be fresh mini donuts.
Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen is now a park sponsor. They are actually a sponsor of all Herschend waterparks now.

It looks like quite a bit of wood was replaced at the bottom of the drop after the lift hill before the track goes through the lift hill.

Also, it sounds like Outlaw Run and Thunderation will now be closed in prolonged/heavier rains.

Yep. Rode it yesterday. The beginning into the corkscrew isn't too bad, but the area in red is basically a clearcut with just a few remaining trees. The most staggering is the lift hill through the return to the station.

I would love for them to start using themed carts when moving back of house supplies throughout the park. Even if they used the motorized hand carts like Disney (and I think Dollywood has them now too) and wrap them in a texture that matches the parks aesthetic.
