General Silver Dollar City Talk / Its a Wonderful Life
February 22, 2020, 09:27:20 AM
Maybe this has been discussed but I couldn't find it so....... I have been looking at the SDC website today and have noticed that Its a Wonderful Life has been removed from the list of shows and also removed from the Broadway Style shows list under an Old Time Christmas. They still use the picture for it as the header on the page. Has anyone heard anything. they talked about ending it several years ago. https://www.silverdollarcity.com/theme-park/Attractions/Shows-Entertainment/Festive-Family-Entertainment

Branson Talk / New Hotel/Motel to stay in?
March 31, 2019, 09:08:28 AM
Ok. We are heading to Branson next weekend. Several of my friends have tried in the last 2weeks to get our prize from Classic and were told it is no longer available. I called yesterday to make a reservation for next weekend and was told that they know nothing about a special price. So with this being said I would like to know if anyone knows of any other inexpensive options. Thanks for your time.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Barbara Summers
March 23, 2017, 09:05:16 AM
Barbara Lynn Summers that has worked at the park for 25 years has passed away at only 47 years old. She is the baker that makes the cup cakes and the wonderful bread pudding at Eva and Delilahs. I talked to her opening week and she had told me she was so excited because she was getting her 25 year sign this year. I hope the still do this for her.

The Shuffle has started early. Raiding the Country Vault is moving to Starlite Theater and #1 Hits of the 60's Moving to Clay Cooper Theater. Looks like we are also losing a few Shows.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / 2016 Mugs
March 12, 2016, 08:48:35 AM
This year SDC has "Limited Addition Mugs". They will have 4 in the series coming out different times of the year. Remember if you buy them at breakfast they are 20% off. Can't beat that.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / SDC Breakfast good and bad.
March 12, 2016, 08:29:36 AM
Well SDC has lost their mind this morning. When you eat the breakfast buffet they like always have cereal. Cereal is still on the buffet but if you want milk for your cereal it costs $2.39 for it. Now on the good side of the buffet they now have build your own breakfast tacos. They were good.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Opening weekend.
February 18, 2016, 05:29:32 AM
I have been looking at the SDC website. As everyone knows there are some shops that are not open until April and May but unless they have not updated the section on food then there are very few food vendors and restaurants open opening weekend... It only lists 2 vendors open on the 12-13th. I have sent an email to SDC to verify. I am assuming it is a typo. Has anyone heard anything?

Branson Talk / Forever Young finds home at Hughes
February 11, 2016, 08:14:20 AM
Well I am sure the cast of forever young can breath a sigh of relief to have a theater home. I can not wait to see this production. Several of these guys are either preforming at SDC or have in the past.

Branson Talk / What will happen to Grand Village Shops
January 31, 2016, 05:36:10 AM
Looks like the Grand Village Shops might get a redo. The area has been looking a little shabby the last few years but I really hope that they keep Mels Hard Luck Diner. Here is the Link. http://www.bransontrilakesnews.com/news_story/article_374b8110-c6bb-11e5-83b8-cf9defa324dd.html

Branson Talk / New Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village
October 02, 2015, 06:07:49 PM
New Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village to debut Nov. 5.
A new drive-through Christmas light display and attraction will debut in Branson this holiday season.
In addition to a "magical mile" drive-through display, the Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village will also feature rides on the North Pole Express train, selfies with Santa, laughs with the Crackling Christmas Chickens, gourmet hot chocolate, photos with the Clydesdale horses, and a life-size nativity experience.
Ozark Mountain Christmas Lights & Village — located at 555 Buena Vista Road — is open Nov. 5 through Dec. 27. The drive-through display will be open 5:30 to 11 p.m. and the Christmas Village and attractions will be open Thursday through Sunday from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
A one-night pass will cost $18 per vehicle. Season passes allowing unlimited visits cost $25 per vehicle.
The display is designed by North Pole Productions, the same creative minds behind the former Festival of Lights off Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, which ended a near 25-year run last season.

Branson Talk / Water Chute in Branson
June 27, 2015, 06:23:13 PM
Just an FYI. I talked to the owner of the Water Chute today and she said after 40 years she is going to sell ( she is almost 80). She said she would hope whoever buys it would keep it open but since this is prime real estate where it is you never know what will happen. If you have never been on the slide or you love it from your childhood you might about going now before it's too late. We had a blast there today. Still only $15 for an hour of sliding.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Becca's Weaving
June 02, 2014, 06:44:33 AM
So sad to see that Becca has left SDC. She moved out a few weeks ago. Her husband had passed away during the off season and she bit the bullet and went ahead and opened for the new season. Now she has decided it is best to move to Texas to be closer to family. So sad to lose this shop.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Bittersweet Gallery closing at SDC
February 27, 2014, 07:26:20 AM
I received this message from a friend that works there.
"Hi, Ray. Just letting you know that Bittersweet Gallery will NOT be at SDC this year. Nancy has to have hip replacement surgery next month, her dad has alzheimers, and there is a host of other factors contributing to this decision. We are all at peace about it. My back is thanking them, too. We are moving out today, loading up in a semi. I will miss seeing you, but so glad we keep in touch on fb."
I will miss this shop.
