Wow!  That's one of the best Christmas presents I can think of from SDC: making Thunderation rideable again!  I do get in 1 ride on it each trip but that's all I could handle with the rib-breaking bumps.  Thanks Swoosh!

It used to be the Mile-High cream pies they had at Mary's Pie shop at SDC.  After each visit to SDC we get an email to take a survey asking about our visit and during the food portion it asks for suggestions and I always tell them how I'd love to see the pies return to SDC (along with an offering of a steak dinner at SDC).

And just like that, I was priced out of buying tickets for my family. I hope they give an option for JUST 2021 for the normal price. There is NO WAY I will pay over 600.00 for the chance to go. Especially if I have to wear a mask and make reservations or limit times I can go because they are crowded or my schedule does not match what they have available due to crowd levels.

Some of us don't usually use the BAF's so if you will post when you are going I (and I'm sure others) will be happy to use ours to get you in if we are going to be up there at the same time.  Just a thought.

According to the SDC twitter feed they've been extremely busy the last 2 Saturdays. Last Saturday they posted they were at capacity and that was 20 minutes after opening!  With cool dry weather predicted for this weekend I'm sure tomorrow will be very busy as well.

Dollywood's season pass is $139 a year so basically they are wanting a bit over half to extend the pass. I tried to find the season pass price on the SDC website and it isn't showing as an option anywhere I could find. My recollection is it was around $110 for this year (?), so my guess is SDC will want $59 for the extra 6 months

Still seems like they should just allow it to work all year... but they are hurting for money I would imagine with the huge ride cash outlay

With tax our 2020 season passes were 122.03 for each adult pass- we bought 3.

Thanks Swoosh and others that posted pictures!  Looking forward to riding next Friday and Saturday!

Welcome to the site Irrumater!

I would be absolutely thrilled if they would just FIX THE THUNDERATION BUMPS!

The Branson aldermen had a meeting yesterday to debate a mask requirement. It was on YouTube and went over 7 hours -- vote postponed for 2 weeks. During the meeting someone said that SDC average attendance was 3000 per day.

If that is the case, how can SDC make enough money to stay open?

When we were at the City a few days ago I was talking to a shopkeeper at Cowboy Jepp's about the low attendance for that day.  We agreed that summer is not SDC's busiest time even in years before Covid-19.  The bigger crowds happen during fall and winter so I'm thinking the crowds will come in then.  Right now the announcement is no reservations required until Labor Day so I bet once Pumpkin Nights start, at the very least, reservations will be required for weekends.

We went to Center Stage last year and the service was pretty slow even though the place was empty. Steak was not cooked correctly and the singer up there sounded like a cow dying in a pasture.  I hate to be mean but that is the facts.  That said we would probably try them again, maybe.

That's better than the steak sounding like a cow dying in a pasture.  That's a little too rare in my opinion.

^ I never heard them make the announcement that MRF was open.  My advice is to walk by the ride every once in a while to see if a line has formed and they are taking riders.  Thursday had on and off lightning in the area so MRF didn't open until later that afternoon-about 3pm I think.  I did hear they are doing final testing so it should be open all day soon.

^ Great review!  We didn't get to ride MRF on Thursday but did sit and watch the ride from the Smokehouse.  I got the 1 meat platter with brisket and they gave me a lot of it so I was pretty full with just 1 meat and 2 sides.  Also I noticed throughout a lot of the park they had "Rockin' the Grass" tunes playing, i.e. rock songs played with bluegrass instruments.  I heard bluegrass versions of "Jack and Dianne" by John Mellencamp, "Rambling Man" by the Allman Brothers Band and "Crossfire" by Stevie Ray Vaughn among others.  Not bad and if they are going to play rock songs for the summer that is definitely the way to do it.
