« on: January 20, 2018, 09:14:17 AM »
Well maybe the deep freeze of 17-18 is over? (i hope),  holidays are over.   What are you going to do for the 7 weeks until the park is open for the new season? Any plans?

I am going to catch up on outside work, lots of clean up from bad weather.  Back to work and wait.. Planning on being there the first weekend.. Will be staying at Classic of course.

Well, there's a lumber yard over there. I'm guessing this is what he saw:,-93.3402116,3a,33.6y,277.46h,89.84t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXllOgJUdkcNV2kXRmmarsg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

To be fair though, SDC might buy from that yard since it's so close.  :P

YEP!!  Ya could build a real nice outhouse with that assortment of wood.. ;D

See?  And I dont think they will lose any "loyal" customers.... if they lose them because of the name change they were not loyal to become with.....

Then you have the scenario that:
the few you loose because of the name change......
you will get just as many new people coming because of name change.  LOL..   IF They arent offended anymore...!!!

MAN!!  what a viscous circle~!~ :o :o :o

Hubs drove by the City yesterday and asked me what was going on - piles and piles of lumber and some visible cranes.

Lumber?  like 2x4's and 2x8's? for buildings and such?

Or BIG Lumber? Planks? Posts?   For "heavy duty" projects. Landscaping? Bridges?  ..

Although I just realized that this isn't about the Branson location specifically - it's the whole chain including the pigeon forge location. LOL,

Which is why I had put it under other parks..  because it draws a Major Crowd, and they are talking about expanding in the USA and across seas....  LOL.  Not really local by any means....  ;)

In the KY3 article covering this, they mentioned that there are plans to build in locations outside America. So in foreign markets, it would make more sense to call it "Dolly Parton's Stampede" because people overseas are more likely to know who Dolly is versus what "Dixie" means.

Although I am sure the "Dixie" thing is a "Problem" for the PTB,  The name change will be easier to market worldwide.. After all...... Who Dont Know Dolly?.    LOL

I merged the threads. Pretty much anything about Branson goes in here, even if it's some kind of other park. The other board is for parks that are a ways away.

Whew!  Thanks Shave,!  That was getting confusing..... :o :o :o   ::) ::) ::)

Branson Talk / New Name for Dixie Stampede

I just saw this on another site...

I cant help if there isnt a different underlying reason for change ::) ::)

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) - Dolly Parton's "Dixie Stampede" will have a new name for the 2018 season.

In a release Monday, Parton announced the show will go by the name "Dolly Parton's Stampede" when it re-opens in late January for the 2018 season.

“Our shows currently are identified by where they are located,” Parton said. “Some examples are Smoky Mountain Adventures or Dixie Stampede. We also recognize that attitudes change and feel that by streamlining the names of our shows, it will remove any confusion or concerns about our shows and will help our efforts to expand into new cities.”

The dinner attraction, which is owned by World Choice Investments, has plans to expand into new communities around the world in 2018.

There are currently locations in Pigeon Forge; Branson, Missouri; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I find it interesting that the ad specifies Time Traveler,

I would have thought they would have hire on a more general basis,
trained hirees and current employees as needed,
and then transferred employees as the PTB see fit.

Are the other MAint people trained per ride? or maintain all rides?  I assumed they did all of them. Is TT going to be that special they need 1 or 2 people to maintain it?

Tinman? any insight on this.?

Next you'll tell us there is no Santa Claus!  :'(  I'd like to see The Pinkerton Man come back to replace the Wild West Show but with Time Traveler next to Echo Hollow I'm not sure that will happen.

I wouldnt mind another Pinkerton show, It would need to be revamped obviousy. It was a fun show, but very. very "busy"..

Yeah, I dont see a system like this going in the Branson area.  It would have to span out to SDC,  and that would take a Lot of 0's to build...

Now maybe after a recently new proposed waterpark was build......

AND  IF maybe another group did a large project out on "south 465"

It wouldn't hurt if something was done at CC also..

That's a lot of waiting and "if's"

That number could have easily been 80-100,000 more people, If not more...
