Other Parks / Re: SFOT Purchase Offer From HFEC?
« on: Today at 07:23:46 AM »
Lol, I just noticed that they called out a figure of $5 billion for the deal. Perhaps this guy is just getting played... For that money you could build a bigger better SFOT... Three or four times over...

But maybe there is a pinch of truth to it all and HFEC did send SF some kind of bid. Maybe it never goes anywhere, but it shows HFEC is trying to expand the park business again. Would love to see a fourth park...

Apparently the $5B price tag is for 3 parks, not just SFOT.

Yes, With that many zeros it would have to be more than just the one location....

^^ couple comments

1. The rock work is all new.  They didnít save anything
2. I agree that the footer is for the tower/slide regardless of what the blowhard Andrew says on TPR.

Im surprised nothing was saved,,, the big stones have Age, Weathering and Moss on them.   Look like they have been there before... for sure fits well..

OK, but something would have to go in the old location if FitH is relocated.  Another dark ride in a new building?  Something along the lines of one of the concepts presented in the recent DW survey?

Any kind of ride could go into the area.

they could also build a new Building for shows and events..   Maybe something to replace Riverfront when it comes out..

Pretty sure the building is too far gone to be saved.
You have to remember that Blazing Fury is much younger than FITH

The building is in bad shape. you can see daylight through the walls in several places.  You know it has been patched "alot" through the years.

Something though, or else no new Patio

I always thought the lake was necessary to the park because it was a detention pond as well.  I agree they will keep something, probably not as large.

I am hoping they finish off the edges of the "new Lake Silver" with slutty concrete, or formed sides... anything besides raw dirt,,maybe the water ill stay cleaner,
Maybe a fountain in the middle to keep it from becoming stagnant..
I would like to to see it become the new retention pond, that way the water would be constantly cycled and moved around- again, keep it from being stagnent, or stale, or trashy like the old lake..

Good to see that they are planning on RF staying right there and no relocation..   New dining are looks very nice and roomy.

Also indicated there will still be "something" to overlook....  The old lake silver,?  New lake silver,?   water holding area for the new ride?.  Hmmm...??  Something though, or else no new Patio

They were only budgeting for 6K people on Friday and they got 12k.  I get that the previous 2 days were dead but it seems like they get caught off guard a lot when budgeting for holiday weekend traffic.

Thats true, BUT it is a short weekend with Sunday being Easter and closed..   I am sure they compared to last years numbers and expected forecast...\\

Good day though.. ;D

This is quite a bit of revenue for sure. But, I have to wonder at 40 bucks a night if any real money was actually made ? If you add up all costs of a room, supplies, manpower, electricity, towels, marketing I doubt the owners are making a killing off a cheap rate. More likely they are just turning dollars over. I would gladly pay a extra 5 or 10 if it would help a local business stay a local business.  Motel rates are stagnant and probably why most places do not upgrade their facilities or cut services to survive.
I tend to stay in condos when I go so I do not take advantage of it anyway. Just asking the question or starting a conversation.
Whatever , The hard work you put into it is appreciated.

I was told a long time ago by a motel manager...  The MOST expensive rooms.... are the "Empty" rooms..,

Likewise at the shows in town,  Most expensive seats.... are the empty ones..
