White Water Discussion / WW 2019
« on: June 02, 2019, 10:05:45 PM »
Made out first trip of the year to WW this weekend. Below are a few things that we noticed:

- They still have the $20 unlimited refill cup for sale. (Wasn't sure if this would go away with the SDC&WW VIP cup).
- New water fountain/bottle filling statin right inside the gate. Also noticed bottle filling stations at the water fountains throughout the park. Not sure if they were there last year.
- New area of misters on the Lazy River.
- Splashaway Cay has a new coat of paint and the slides are now different and brighter colors than before.
- The people checking bags were in WW staff shirts, not more security staff looking shirts like at SDC and like how they have been at WW in the past.

So do they only have this certain days?  How much are they charging for it?

I don't see a price, but looks like this Friday, Saturday & Sunday are the last days for it.

Would be interesting to see the pics of the new area..  NOT promo pics,  but real pics form real people..   Sounds like a nice area.

There are multiple tour videos on YouTube.

Wildwood Grove is open (mostly) now and seems like they did a great job on the new area. It looks to be their version of Firemanís Landing or Grand Expo. Iím most jealous of Dragonflier. It looks to be a perfect ride to fill the gap between small kiddie coasters and the bigger trill coaster as it only has a 39Ē minimum height. At SDC, kids go from the Grand Expo Coaster and FitH straight to Thunderation and Powder Keg. Having a smoother, more approachable coaster to transition would be really nice to have.
The way that they put the nets on the ride is a bit strange looking though. Apparently they didnít want to put the nets off of the ride due to cosmetic reasons of the area.

That AND it was a Sunday, AND school is still in session..   Along with I am sure people are planning on trips next weekend, rather than this weekend..

Hopefully, people aren't planning on this Sunday since they are closed for Easter. We've almost made that mistake before, but luckily we checked the hours before heading out. We know a few people that have actually driven to the park and then realized that they were closed.

When we were there on Sunday, Fire in the Hole was very sad. Literally no audio on the entire ride except for maybe the train sound. Makes me really think that itís on its way out soon.

...I know several of the regular contributors weren't there (e.g. Kanakuk camps/ Joe White) which might have had an impact...

He was on the schedule for Sunday morning.

You're right, my mistake.

I think that we both might be correct. Seeing some posts now that are making me think that he wasnít actually there, but was originally on the schedule.

We went to the park on Sunday and had a great day. Short lines and we only saw about 3 people cut the line all day. No problems with any kids at all.

I did notice that they had a special to upgrade the 2-Day YCW ticket to a season pass for only $35. When we walked by there was a line of kids upgrading.

Anybody at the park today...??

I am hearing only about 3600 people today,.,??    is that right?

We were there for a few hours around noon. No lines for anything. Rode TT with zero wait.

Actually now that I look at it closer, the Gold pass is really just bundling in parking. So not really any different than the SDC Pass + parking other than some additional discounts. Dollywood just markets it differently.
False alarm on me thinking that it was a true tiered pass system.

Depending on how it goes for Dollywood this season, I also suspect that 2020 will bring tiered Season Pass levels to SDC.

Any ideas on what The Branson Coaster is up to?

Facebook status says exciting news at 9 am CST. Based on their replies it appears to be a ticket or season pass offer.

I'm guessing that it's just hype for the Spring Flash Sale. If it was something bigger I would have expected them to promote the announcement with more than just a FB post an hour before the announcement.

I'm not sure if the $50 mug includes the delicious frozen lemonade refills.

Only exclusion are drinks that include ice cream.
