May I also make a late night snack recommendation for any other sweet tooth folks out there.  HURTS Donuts the glazed blueberry strusel covered donut is probably one of the cheapest and best they offer.  Fun to stop in a buy 6 different donuts and bring them back to the room. Monster donuts with lots of filling and toppings. Next to Dick Clark Theater at the light.

Havent been there yet, I keep forgetting they are there..  Hear a lot of good things about their donuts.!@!

Also in Hollister, actually on Downing Street is Little Hacienda for Mexican. I know the one in Branson didn't get a good word earlier in this thread, but that one caters to tourists and is more mass production style. The location in Hollister is much better, great service, good margaritas, and some really good queso.

Gettin Basted and Danna's are great BBQ places. Billy Bob's if you're looking for a burger, but make sure to bring cash.

Alright, now that I've made myself hungry again I need to stop  :D

Absolutely Agree.  Hacienda in Hollister is good,  I just dont usually drive that far to eat, But for sure is an option since they screwed up the Branson location >:(

Danna is great for BBQ and other food,  Always busy.    Since Gett'n Bast'd opened, they have lots of dining room space, so I havent tried to go back to Danna's, but excellent food.

Billy Bob's !! Of course, new location last year, more room, easy access from 76,  GREAT burgers...!

What were summer days averaging last year Sandunerider?  Do you remember?
Seems like 20+ at Christmas with any decent weather at all (drastically effected by cold weather) but I didn't watch the summer months.  I would love to keep track and watch the patterns.  EZ spreadsheet with weather included so you can see its effect.

memorial weekend averaged about 15 per day...

summer? i would say 12-15 average... obviously depending on rain? heat? humid?  LOL...  Tornadoes!!!.

I am wondering about the earthen damn they have started on.  Do you guys think they will have a walk on this road area?  Circuit the walkways here around the lake?

I expect that the earthen dam is not more than a temp retaining wall to keep old lake silver water and drainage out of the new site.
I wouldnt guess how it will be finished off later, But I dont see a walkway there,  really no place to go..
I personally hope that IF the lake stays, They will be in finished walls all the way around. Would look much better, But time will tell..

Saw the Hughes Brothers show last night.  Didn't see KD, but then I also haven't met her before.  But they were short a few family members and others due to illness.  Lots of junk going around.  Fun show though, and lots of changes from the past.  If you haven't seen them in a couple of years, go check them out as almost the entire show and set are all new since one of the brothers moved to California.

Stopped at the park for a couple of hours this morning.  Long lines, lots of people.  Took a ride on the train, saw the Petersens play, looked in a few shops and walked around the park, and headed out after 2 1/2 hours.  Just to busy for us.  But I'll bet all the new employees get their workouts and get a lot more comfortable in their roles after this weekend.  It's going to be crazy tomorrow.

Being "moms" assistant I would guess the K.D. wont be around much in the evening. Pretty sure her main hours will be daytime shift..

Was out there for just a short time today,  Took a ride on the new engine, number 14, and shot a little video of the construction site from it.  Not a long video, but will give you a glimpse of the changes in the last week.

Nice video,

the construction area is huge!

friday-    19,500....

CORRECTION!!!   Thursday was a little over 19,000.

I dont have wed numbers//

Ok, that makes a little more sense.  But that's still an incredibly, hugely ridiculous number for a Thursday.  But seeing that number I'm happy we left when we did today.  It was definitely feeling that way.

They're sure getting off to a great start number wise.

good numbers sure help offset the slow opening week... big numbers this week, going to be a good year..!

Here are the photos of the Lost River rafts arriving at Dollywood
http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/2019/03/riverfront-lost-river-sdc_21.html

I find it interesting that the rafts are being rplaced at SDC, But yet they are good enough to reuse at the sister park.  Just strikes me as funny.

No doubt they would be sold and move on, But to stay in the family, funny to me

Branson Talk / Re: Plans for Ride the Ducks Location
« on: March 21, 2019, 07:28:48 AM »
Seems like an obvious move. People have been saying Branson needs to become less about the shows and more about family attractions.

Not sure what people your talking to...

A Recent Poll indicates that Shows are 51% of why people come to town..

In Fact "attractions", go carts, ferris wheel, golf, museum and the rest of it didnt even make it in the top 3 reasons people come to Branson.

Of course that is just a Poll.  I dont know the group that was asked, and how many there were in group..
