Texas could only manage a 35-3 win over UCF, a middling C-USA opponent?

Unless they didn't play anyone 2nd string or higher, that should actually move UT down in the ratings.

Alabama got yet another of those SEC miracle calls that seem to favor a Bama/UF championship matchup.

Hogs looked good in their win over South Carolina. I couldn't believe Spurrier wasted two timeouts and tried to burn his third in their first possession, less than 6 minutes into the first quarter.

^Texas dropped to #3 in the BCS standings, but remained #2 in the AP and Coaches' Poll.  It's apparent that playing UCF at all (win or lose) hurt them in the computer rankings, as they're ranked only #5 in those rankings.  However, Texas controls its own destiny and will play in the BCS National Championship if they win out; this is obviously because Florida and Alabama will play one another in the SEC Championship Game.

Interestingly, TCU jumped to #4 in the BCS standings, mainly because Harris Poll voters were very kind to them this week, ranking them #4 (they were #6 last week).  There's a little controversy here, because TCU jumped Cincy, who won a close (2 point) game against Connecticut.  TCU crushed San Diego State 55-12.

Meanwhile, Boise State moves up 1 spot to #6 in the BCS standings; their quest for a major bowl game is helped tremendously by Oregon's loss to Stanford this week.

I get to go to the MU/K-State game tomorrow.  Yea!!!  I'm going with my friends, the parents of Kurtis Gregory.  Mizzou is favored by 1 point, at least according to one radio program I was listening to today.  I hope they do a little bit better than that.   GO MIZZOU!

You can't spell SUCKS without KSU

^^Have fun!

^If KSU sucks, then what does that mean for us? :-\

records are not indicative of the level of suckage.  Take kU for example, they won the Nat'l Champ in Basketball a few years ago yet still sucked majorly.  I think it has to due with the fact that they live in that nasty state to the west of me.

It's not Big XII, but...

Boise State proved today why no one cares that they're undefeated, and why they'll remain without respect until they join a real conference.

Boise State and Idaho both entered the game with 4 WAC wins, but Boise won 63(!!!) to 25. Seriously, what kind of beer league do you play in where you can score 63 points on a team that was 4-2 in conference play?

^Sounds like a league that Colorado needs to join  ;)

Well, glory be... I get to go to another MU football game today!  Against Iowa State.  Thanks to Kurtis, who finagled some extra tickets.  Them Gregory's is good people.  I doubt that I run into anyone from the site there...Swoosh? maybe, but if you see a couple of guys in full camo, that might be my hunting buddy Dan and I.  It's tradition for us to wear camo when we go to one of Kurtis' games.  GO MIZZOU!!!!

Hmmmm...so Mangino is under fire.  He's always had a temper but it hasn't been an issue.  However, a 5 game losing streak (about to be 6; no way they beat Texas) and the coach's temper becomes an issue.  No mystery there.  I find it interesting that initially he said he hasn't lost the players.  Yesterday he blames bitter players and their parents.  Doesn't really matter since the damage has been done, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's let go at the end of this year.  Blaming bitter players and their parents doesn't exactly help recruiting, either. ::)

^^ Ahh.  We were in the players tickets section, JJ, on the east side of the field.  Thoroughly enjoyed the game.  Seeing Kurtis' parents down there on the field at the beginning for senior day stuff; a great ballgame that had it's share of tenseness, but they pulled it out in the end. Then watching Kurtis go over and get a rock out of the big M on the north side.  Kinda sad...his last home game.  Gonna have to DVR next week's game cause I have to go back to work.  Vacation's almost over...darn.

^I have a rock from the "M" in my office at school.  Marching Mizzou members get one too after their final game at home.
