And #4...incredible luck.

I agree with your assessment.  We've shown that we can move the ball and score, but the team needs to stay focused for the whole game.  A relatively young team at some key positions, trying to replace the standouts that left the team, it seems that they get "rattled."  Hang tough boys and stick with the game plan.  GO MIZZOU!!
"Why do they call them Wild Women?"

KU is overrated, losing at home to OU 28-6 at the end of the third quarter.  Iowa State beat Nebraska in Lincoln, so now Nebraska, Colorado, and MU all have two losses in the North (looks like KU will also be in that group).  At the end of the day it looks like Kansas State will be alone in first place in the North!

Well, what a disheartening Homecoming performance. :-[  Texas didn't even bother toying with us--they came out firing on all cylinders and left us in the dust before we could even get the key in the ignition!

I hope Gabbert's okay the rest of the way.  If not, it may be hard to contend in the North.

Texas should get some #1 votes this coming week; Florida and Alabama looked anything but impressive today in their wins.  Texas has a dangerous game next week in Stillwater.  That'll be fun to watch!

Final Thought:  Gettis is the worst corner in the Big 12!

Should be an interesting Saturday night in Stillwater.  Cowboys will have to play near perfect ball to beat the longhorns.  I'm hoping Saturdays performance if full of treat's and not tricks!  GO COWBOYS!!!!!!

I didn't even think to look, were any of you SDC'ers at the game in Stillwater a couple of weeks ago?  I was there....we could have met up and had a cold one!

Swoosh

Nope.  We thought about it, but decided against it.

We're headed to Boulder this weekend though.  Should be a fun trip regardless of the outcome of the game -- but I'm counting on my Tigers to get their first conference win come saturday.

^I think we have a good chance of winning if we can cut down on turnovers.  The Tigers just need one good win and it'll give them confidence the rest of the way.

Swoosh

I think that we'll come away from Boulder with a win -- personally I hope the Tigers blow out the Buffs since it's their HC and we (me, my wife and my parents) are in Denver right now and will be going to the game tomorrow in Boulder.  I would really like to have a lot to cheer about and would LOVE to see Folsom Field clear out as quickly as Faurot did last weekend.  (evil laugh)

Man, look at the discrepancy between the North and South.  The North only has two teams at or above .500 in the conference; the South has five teams at or above .500 in the conference.  Whoever wins the North is probably going to get steamrolled in the conference title game. :-\

Swoosh

Whoever wins the North will have the priveledge of getting slaughtered by Texas at Cowboy Stadium, which will basically be a "home game" for Texas -- though MU has a large alumni base in Dallas/Fort Worth (2nd largest MU alumni association outside of Columbia)

Wow, well it looks like ending the regular season at KU won't be nearly as exciting as it looked before the season started.  It looks like it probably won't decide the North.

I can't believe we lost at home to Baylor! :o  Baylor is now 3-52 in the Big 12, winning in Ames in 2005, in Boulder the next year and now, three years later, they win in Columbia.  This is beyond humiliating. :-[  I thought that we might struggle a bit this year, and losing to ranked teams three weeks in a row is understandable.  But I would've never thought that we'd lose to Baylor, let alone lose at home.  Especially since Baylor was starting a 3rd string freshman QB.  Our defense looked confused most of the game, especially the secondary.  Seriously, Florence goes 33-44 for 433 yards, 3 TD and 0 interceptions!  Coming in after 5 games he never passed for even 250 yards in a game with a total of 2 TD and 4 interceptions.  Absolutely pathetic.

Sometimes I wonder what the coaching staff does at halftime; there have been several games (including this one) where I thought we made no adjustments after halftime.  No time to rest, as our game at Kansas State next week is the most important game of the season.  We still have a slight chance of winning the North (with a lot of help) but, if we lose next week, our chance drops to zero.

For the record, the Mizzou offense has yet to score a touch down in the 2nd half of a game against a Big XII opponent.

Very annoyed by the play calling that occurs during the 2nd half.  During the first half we air out the ball and run up and down the field as we please.  The 2nd half we stop doing that and instead give the ball to Washington who will at most get 1-2 yds or (more likely) lose 4 to 5 yds because he cannot run anyway but left-right and backwards.

Alexander only had 2 passes thrown to him the 2nd half.  Is that a good decision by the offensive coordinator?  I don't think so.  AND WTH was with Gabbert not running for the first down there near the end of the game.  Wide open, and instead he runs and throws it to a man triple teamed.

If anything, during the off season, Gabbert needs to work on NOT honing in on who he is going to pass it to the entire time.  It's pretty obvious who he is going to throw to as he never takes his eyes off that receiver.

MU will be back next year, I just hope they can salvage what is left of the season and get 8 wins so they can go to a decent bowl game.

Looking at the stats, is our running game really that bad?  I know we're not great, but we had 468 yards passing and only 10 yards rushing on 25 carries!  Baylor came in giving up an average of 179.5 yards rushing per game, worst in the conference.

Swoosh

When your passing game is that good, why run the ball?
Our issue was that we went away from passing down the field the 2nd half and that killed us (even though that's our bread and butter)
