I totally agree. I love RMC rides, but their restraints suck.

I'd give up some of my airtime in order to have a more comfortable and inclusive ride.

Does anyone know why Outlaw Run further tightened their restraints this year? My husband was able to ride when we were there in December, but now, no dice. Hilariously (or frustratingly) enough, he's actually 30 lbs lighter than he was in December.

So, it's definitely not him.

I noticed the restraints seemed much less forgiving on me as well.

What's up with that? They were already so freakin' restrictive.

The company I'm coming over with highly recommends food gifts, even if they don't go over super well. They want us to avoid bogging down people we don't know with a bunch of material goods. They say consumables are best.

So, I'm leaving Missouri to jet off to Hiroshima, Japan in March. I'll be working as an English teacher for elementary school students and am pretty excited about it. Part of my job is to act as a cultural ambassador and show the kids what it is like to grow up in America.

When I arrive, I am expected to bring gifts to the school staff. The principal, vice-principal, my supervisor, etc. They should be goods that reflect where I am from.

Naturally, my mind went to Silver Dollar City--as it's more my home than my house is!

If you were going to bring gifts from Silver Dollar City to someone who has never been to the park (or even America), what would you bring them? Preferably edible, but anything will do.

I plan to go to the park opening day and grab some awesome treats for my new future co-workers.

If you have any thoughts for any other locally-made treats in Branson, those might work too.

During the summer months and when I go to the night time events where there's sure to be a crowd at close, I've started springing for priority parking.  I scoffed at the idea at first, but after waltzing past the crowds during Old Time Christmas and hopping straight into my car, I'd say it was worth the $6.

I love the art around the city quite a bit, but I think as a design student, my favorites are all of the signs.  The typography, the texture, the weathered look.  They're so beautiful.  I was down there working on a class project about the rides last week, but I took more time taking photos of signs than anything else.  Ha ha.  Maybe I'll throw a gallery up when I'm not so busy.

Anything that serves food that could be considered a meal.  Doesn't have to be a sit down place, just as long as it's tasty.

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on these forums for a long time, but finally have a reason to post.  Tomorrow, I'm heading to the city for the opening of World's Fest.  I'm a graphic design student and for my final project in one of my classes, I am doing an 8 page magazine spread on Silver Dollar City that is geared more towards theme park enthusiasts than families.

Now, I've been going to Silver Dollar City, literally, since I was a baby, but I'm having some problems coming up with enough material to fill 8 pages.

Mostly, what I am trying to figure out is I have to do a product page with between 5 and 10 items.  I was thinking of doing a food countdown of the Top 5 places to eat. . . Trouble is, I can't say I've tried five restaurants in the park anytime recently. My group is full of creatures of habit and we tend to eat at the same two places every time.

So, tomorrow I plan on sampling some food outside of my usual places and the World Fest food (my favorite part of the festival!)

Could anyone recommend some other restaurants that are worthy of a countdown besides the buffets and Riverside Ribs?  I'll be checking out what I can tomorrow, but I'd love some insight from other visitors.
