PS: The "Cowboy Santa Claus" in the country artists congrats video was Charlie Daniels.

I know who he is.  I just thought it would be funnier to label him as that.  ;D ;)

I'm kinda curious--is Timber Tower very popular at DW? Do you think SDC will ever get something similar?

There's a reason that there are only 3 of these rides in the world, and it's not the cost.
They're maintenance nightmares.  Timberrr Tower has had a lot of downtime since it was first built.  It's been better lately, but it has sufferered A LOT of downtime in its short life.

Really?  Must not be overly common because I post on many boards and that's the first time I've ever heard of that -- course most people that post on boards are not married so that might be it.

Yep, they'll say they hate it, but deep down inside they love it because it makes them feel safe -- and most of the kids do not get that at home.

DH and I got to the park before opening on Friday.

Who's that?  Sort of confusing since those are my initials and it sure wasn't me.

PBS and RtI are swear words in my book.  Just the latest "phase/buzz words" in Missouri education.  Not a chance in hell it will work in our district as it would mean certain staff members would have to be accountable for discipline. Some staff members are so worried about being "popular" with the students they are afraid to even turn them in when they catch them doing something wrong because then the kid might not "like them" -- WTF cares!  I'm one of the meanest "by the books" teachers at our school and I'm still "popular" and I don't even care if I am or not.  LOL

We have 12 -- but that is rather misleading because the band will be gone for a couple of those days.  Tomorrow we travel to Pella, Iowa for a HUGE marching competition.  I love going up there and competing agaisnt the Iowa bands because marching band is a major sport up there and for some odd reason we are one of only 2 bands in NE Missouri that takes marching band extremely serious.  (we have NO competition in NEMO).

We're headed to the KC St. Patrick's Day Parade next year (2011) and then the Liberty Bowl Parade/Half time in 2012.  Not bad for a small 1A band in NEMO that is a "suburb" of the county seat

As far as the river area I have rarely seen all the seats in the BBQ picnic area filled, they can also move this back to increase the walkway.

One thing to note on the Rib House dining patios is that there are two.  There is one that is directly on the Lost River and then there is the one near the TGS pathway.  Neither of the two patios are connected (not sure why, but that is the case).  The west patio (near TGS pathway) is only used if the west serving line is open.  The east serving line (near Lost River) is always the first to open and thus is always full.  I have seen countless times where the east patio is completely full and people cannot find a place to sit down and eat.  If they could connect the two patios, that would alleviate a lot of those problems and the western patio would be used more often.

One thing that I have noticed is that the rolls that they use as buns at the Rib House for the Pulled Pork have seemed to gotten smaller since the start of the year.  I thought it was my imagination earlier this month (or that I got the "unluck" of the draw) but this past weekend I went to Rib House again and the bun was just as small, so it looks like those portions are getting smaller.  Food is still good, just less for the money.

IDK if that cake is even edible as I never saw it get sliced up.

It was not rotating when I saw it.  If it had been made by Charm City Cakes, I'm sure it would have been
