Is it possible that the rafts for this ride be more traditional and not round with side by side seating and always forward facing, A hybrid Raft/Flume ride?

My question ( I have not seen in person) the trough with the full turn looks small, it might be the angle the photo is at.  Could this be a trough to carry just water?  Maybe this is part of maintaining the water flow but will not carry a tube.  Possible?

it's Gettin' Basted

Located at the old Baldknobbers restaurant/Hotel on the strip!   On my list

Get'n Bast'd- BBQ/smoke food, Best in town, Hands down, None better !!

I just looked this up and dont find it.  I see a Big D's in Branson West

Jane Dough Subs.

Where is Jane Dough Subs?

What looks like and is assumed to be "trough" for the new water attraction appears to be awfully narrow for traditional river rapids rafts like that of the old LRO or an Infinity Falls type ride. Is the photo just deceiving, or is there chance the raft system will be something all together new and different?

I was going to ask how many they thought the new ride tubes would sit.  I thought they would go ahead and go up to 8 or 10 but maybe not.  It does look small, maybe its the angle?

What are the best Italian spots in the Branson area.  We tried Reed Spring Pizza last year and it was very good.  It was a little bit of a drive from SDC but worth it.  I would recommend when you are ready for the drive.   It was not a big place so if you have a group you might want to call.  It was a little higher priced than a chain spots but the pizza was also much better, I myself dont mind paying for quality.  4.3/5

How about a new thread to highlight recommended Dining spots in the Branson SDC area.  I am often stumped to choose the next good spot to go and this might be a good place to get a new idea.

Branson has some hidden gems for dining.

That sounds like a great thread!

The thing I found odd, in all the info on passes and dual park passes, and beneifits,   All the ads at the back of flier, there is no mention or ad for The Showboat Belle... ??   odd..?

Maybe they sold it!

That has happen when they closed or eliminated other things from the company.  They stop talking about it.

Because a large percentage of visitors to SDC aren't "visitors" to Branson.  Many are locals from within an hour or two driving who may not even drive through Branson on the way to the park, let alone actually visit.  So they wouldn't be counted as Branson visitors in that case.

Exactly the point.  We are all aware you can greatly affect the outcome of a poll if you control (who, Where and when) they are asked.  I guess the theater numbers are more than you would think it first blush.

DC is the 2 main reason for people coming to town.

Here was my response.:
Perfect example of why the Shows and Venues in town need to improve yearly, and be supported by the city government. I was surprised to see that visitors avereage 3.4 shows per visit.. Another solid number.

I would like to know WHO they are asking and where they are asking them.  If SDC has 12000 on a median day.  They are second behind shows, but there are not 10000 seats in theaters in Branson that are filled daily.  I think they are wanting to assist the theaters with these numbers.  Lots of theaters 20% full.  How are they getting a larger response than the big buy pulling in 10000?  The numbers dont add up to me.  Not reflecting on show quality in any way but lots of shows struggle in todays changing environment.  Am I off base for questioning this or does this make sense?  Nut-shelling, do you think more people are seeing shows than going to SDC on a daily bases?  I think in the 80's 90's but lots of theaters have closed.

Video is up. You can see it with lots of the construction site at

Great update!  The stream is very nice, good addition!.  I hate to see the stream-less path down to the "water" I dont think that will return.  Looking forward to more development in the lake silver area.

People come from varying backgrounds and have varying incomes and levels of frugality.  Some will pay while others will not.

SDC will raise prices to whatever level enough people will pay.  I'm sure it's an enormous source of income.  Their overhead shouldn't be any higher than any other food service, but their markup is higher, or at least slightly higher, and their customers are virtually captive.

I have a hard time with SDC food pricing.  Often people defend but they often are sponsored and treat trips to parks as business, most likely everything is written off on taxes so there is a reason to defend and deny that these increases can tax a pocket book.  I "get it."  Its a tough thing to compare Disney pricing to SDC as its all on a scale and Disney offers a lot to the guests, they charge as well but they are offering more of an experience than SDC so the pricing has to be considered with the experience.  I really enjoy SDC but see the value slipping away and it has effected the way I spend my money.  I agree that more than $10 for 8 oz of potatoes is high!  It is what is guys.  This is the reason I drive into town when I get hungry.    It makes perfect sense for you to voice that you have reached your comfort limit with this spending.  Do you not think SDC wants to know your opinions?  I think they do.   Another man cannot govern your pocketbook, they do not understand the financial complexities of your life.

I went and checked the map for fun and noted that most of the locations are way off.  Check out the map.  Who is doing their site this year?  Cant be anyone on property.........

Appears to me they just removed the plantation background and reference to the old south and replaced with indians being driven out by white man.  That was my perception anyway.

Unfortunate that "The Stampede" has fallen victim to the self flogging the rest of the nation seems to be infatuated with.  I will skip paying for a show that sounds like a lesson in guilt.  Thats my "last call" for the stampede.
