Go to Bass Pro or Find Campbell Street and drive south till you get to Branson West.  You will come up the back way of SDC>  Used to go to SDC from Springfield that way all the time

Except the "lower level" of the truss comes to a solid wall so that won't work.
Much more informed.  Now I wonder what hole will be the entrance exit and how will they work it all it.
Total revamp of that area.  I hope they keep it quaint.

I don't think that fire escape is for guests hence why it's not very big.  Besides if it is for getting riders off a train it would 16 at most at a time.

Thats why I think this could be a double pathway out/in.  Fun to speculate.

Betting that's a walkway in and a walkway out stacked.  They would probably not want to run the ride over a walkway intentionally, the netting and what not gets ugly.  Thinking this is to avoid the cost of an elevator and to keep the ADA happy.

Also looking at the picture the fire escape they built on the side of the building is not sufficient for the evacuation of people from that tower.  I would think they would want more people out at once to satisfy fire codes.  That building would be hard to evacuate with 900 people in the Q inside that building.  Any of the other rides you can jump the railing to the ground or escape through non-path escapes but not when you are 3-5 stories up.  This might be overkill because of the fire code.  Maybe the bottom or top is a supplemental fire escape route.

Not sure where the Holidays in Midtown thread is, so I will post this here. As I walked thru Midtown the other day, I looked at the new platform, but saw something rather strange on it. It is a speaker. Im thinking this will be a popular place with some sort of tree or something set to music on it.

I noted on my last trip they have new speakers all over mid town.  I am not sure if the are going to play different music than on the square but there are a lot of speakers all over mid-town.  The candle shop, Mary Springhouse, Grandfathers mansion.  They will be doing something that involves a soundtrack in this area at Christmas I believe.

White Water Discussion / Re: SDC and White Water in one day

You will take 2 hours out of that operating day by moving between parks, trams/driving/parking again/ turnstyles/ changing into swimwear/ lockers/ ect.   Personally, I think you would be better served to hang at SDC for the day.  It's easy to overwhelm the kids with choices.  Either way you will have a great time.

One thing I'd like to point out is that there are trees on BOTH sides of the installed track.  So not a full clean cut of the area after all.

That helps!

keep what's there and just add on. Maybe make it a cabin-based resort?
It seems like you could keep all that is historical and if SDC got the rights to SOTH they could work it in with their
"lore" and profit from it.  I am not sure if they could make a go of the show or maybe it has seen better days.  Last year we zipped from the tower and if they own that land they sure own a good chunk.  They could incorporate the old with the new and really turn out a nice place.  I hate to see it go but I would rather SDC gets it and it doesn't turn  into stonebridge phase 2 with a big gate.

Sure could make a good place to put a resort.  A real big one if you wanted, plenty of space to expand.  Much level land in there for a water park?

Been to a couple of their biblical based productions and wish they would start up another theater with a similar concept based on American History.
Thumbs -up!

It's just that hype buildup for a screen-heavy brake run.... Yeah, I dunno.

The screens are what has killed my desire to go to Universal.  I think you need the physical theming even if its on a budget the physical gags are much more entertaining.  After all, you don't walk away from a screen based ride and say "Wow how did they do that" cause you know you just watched a movie.  Now the Shanghai POTC ride is a great mix and I would enjoy riding that.   Overall the screen thing is being overused because it's cheap and allows any effect that is visual.  It doesn't, however, fool anyone, even children.
