Amen to properly staffed.

THey are getting really lax with the ride efficiancys.
PK has 2 cars although more often than not they are running only 1.  I think that WF actually has 3 but even 2 would really help out.
THe worst offences are PK and the swing, only 1 car for these is a really lax move on the parks behalf.

Now they say that if the cars are not full they stall the system adn it has to be rebooted, funny thing though I have seen all rides running empty or just lightly filled as on infrequent slow days.

Waiting a few min is not a big deal but 45 is a killer when that could be cut in half.

Actually producing taffy in the taffy shop?
WHen I was a kid they went at it all the time, the machine wraping and kneeding the taffy was very cool indeed.
Maybe if they gond some movement in that store paying 8.00 a lb for taffy made in some generic factory wouldnt feel so out of bounds.........

"Surely with no shows they would maximize ride production?"
I always was told that they had to take the ride down for an extended period of time to introduce another train/car/arm.  Honestly I always thought that was a cheap excuse, I have been there and had a full park and they are running 1 train, you might be able to get away with that on Waldfire ( 32 or so per train) But Powder Keg rarely has 2 trains when I am there and they are always busy. Seems the down time would pay off quickly by speeding the line up.
Sometimes I don't understand their practice.

I do have an inquiry about the taffy shop, then I was a boy there were always making/ producing taffy ( in the old location)  I think I have seen them doing it 1 time in the new shop.  Now I know the taffy they sell in brought in but you would think they could make 1 flavor consistently for kinetics in the shop, its a little dead.

My only complaint about this area is the fact that it will basically "shut its doors" when it gets too cold for wet rides and that is a huge area in the middle of the park that will be underutilized -- with that being said, I am very excited about this new addition and the level of detail that has been added to this area of the park.

This has been my problem all along, SDC seems to be moving away from the crafts and shopping and relying more on the rides to draw crowds. Maybe its more corporate thinking that they should add something that is not usable during half of its operating year; they can run the ride but who is going to ride it in April? ( Lost River)
Built the darn rollercoaster, add the balloons and the carosell, why do you say?  Cause they can actually be crowd draws 9 months a year.  They can also assist in releving the lines at the open rides, yes even those that only run 1 car or train when there is a 30 min wait.
I am looking forward to the new ride but cant shake the fact that common sense is not comming into play here.

SDC Facebook page says there are changes coming to FITH, Any info on this, I know at least 1 of you has beent hrough it and has pictures to show for it.
I would love to tour that.  I would be happy to see the old broken track scene return, the little dip adn turn, it was a fun moment.
Any insiders info to the hinted changes?

 Well,

"The drawing you have is his and hung in his office for years. It to was scrapped in favor of Rube Dugans. In the Mid 80's I barrowed the concept and turned it into a suspended coaster with ice block cars slung from big tongs to sit on the back side of lake silver. This along with a dozen or more concepts (including another big coaster which I'll talk about another time) were taken to a school in St. Louis where we asked the kids and there mothers which concepts the liked. Where as coasters were the kid faves "

Sounds like great family fun and also sounds like another themed fire in the hole type classic possibility, I would love the prospect if this were done right.
The only thing is it would take a miracle to complete this for this summer although it would be a wonderfull "Gift" even if it didn't open till later in the year.

I guess I can dream.

I love to speculate about what may be comming, SDC has done a decent job in years past with the rides.
I recieved a survey in email a few years back and one of the " choices" was a ride called The Icehouse, it was a ride that took you through the old ice house and probably into a holding area or cave.  The images shown sure did look like a roller coaster although heavly themed. That sounds interesting and a great fit down near the lake, kind of a natural fit if you ask me.
Does anyone else remember this?
Also when is the treehouse comming down? or repair it, it was the Skyscraper at SDC when I was a child, will miss not seeing it but they need to do something with it.

COrrection,
I was actually handicapped, busses and motercycles were always on the left.
THen the 15.00 were the secondary spaces.  I complained heavely to the managment as I can not see someone thats handicapped being less important than someone with 20.00.   This just isnt right.
THey have done nothing to the existing lots and all spaces were free untill about 5 years ago maybe, it wasnt long ago this changed.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Future Wet Rides
« on: October 11, 2008, 10:17:27 PM »
I would love for SDC to consider the season they operate in and build accordingly.  Disney is able to regulate the spash on Splash Mountain, SDC will not be able to regulate the River Battle, this would end up like the Lost River only operating in summer, guys I look forward to the rides during Christmas.  A float ride (Dark PLease) would be a real possibility for a year round ride, they are streaching the season out as far as they can and might think of that when building more rides.   I am all abotu the rides but after 25 years old I didnt care for walking around in wet shoes all day.
I have been to SDC probably 50 times since I was a young boy, 30 years at least, they are straying from the theme, when I was a child employees were not able to wear wristwatched because it wouldnt have been there in the 1800, last time I was there the popcorn cart guy was texting in front of teh customers..maybe I am old fashioned.
THanks for the opertunity to complain.
