How many of you still had today off, or did you use it as a "make-up day"?
We originally had tomorrow off as well, but it is a "make-up" whereas today was a "safe" day and could not be used to make-up snow days.

*really would have liked a 4-day weekend though*

We had to work today anyway, but my daughter had to make up a day today.

I was off today. Might have a few more off next year seeing that the school board has just approved the cuts for 95 jobs in the district. My whole department district wide was literally cut in half (gifted education). So we will see if 7 years Seniority keeps me employed. At least I have 3 certificates in case we encounter a R.I.F. ( that's the rumor!) I might be able to keep a job in the district.

I'm nearly finished with third quarter grades.  Just a few things to do tomorrow.  Then our last speech tournament.  Then spring break.  Then SDC!

That's just a slick little trick.  Wish I coulda done that.  They make me stay 'til 7 on Thursday night, even when my scheduled conferences ended at 5.  Makes for a long 12 hour day - and then I had to work 1/2 day Friday (which I didn't mind).

NOW, MAY SPRING BREAK COMMENCE!

We've been out all week, and it was nice to be off...but not a great week to enjoy for "Spring Break". 6" of snow Monday...warmed up to 80* by Thursday, today it was mid 40's and rainy. We have conferences next week, with our Qtr #3 ending Friday. 2.5 mths left!

I missed parent/teacher conferences, too.  Our conferences were yesterday, and I took the kids to speech districts.  We're heading there again today.  Then, I will be on break!

I had some great conferences as usual.  They all love me and their kids love me.  Boy!  Sometimes you can fool all the people all the time!

I have conferences Tue/ Thurs. Funny thing, we are holding them from 3:15-7:00. Last I checked most parents do not get off at 3:25 like teachers. I am not expecting much of a showing (even less than the typical Spring conferences-which are always lighter than Fall). I have a track meet Thursday, and my wife is a guest conductor at her brothers school for his spring concert Tuesday...looks like I might be missing mine totally...Well I won't say i will be "missing" it!

Any of you other teachers been made aware of this site?
http://www.ratemyteachers.com/

Appears to me to be a "flame" site for students to ***** about their teachers.  Apparently I am doing something right because I had two comments within the last week complaining about me.  Man I am such a "horrible teacher"

It was widespread here about 3-4 yrs ago, but has since died down. I had a few comments when I was an art teacher, but none for about 2 years.
