Report from the Homestay!
Soft opening underway with all guests being SDC fans.  Nice to know we have such a welcome spot in Branson so close to the park.  Paige and I had a conversation tonight, I was welcomed by a big hug and a " I missed you".
Its hard to purchase that kind of a welcome.  Where are you Sandune? I know your ears were burning tonight.
This is the second year I was here for opening night.  Maybe it will become a tradition.  I look forward to a great summer and a familiar comfortable hotel is the icing on the cake.
Thanks Paige for opening, we were getting anxious.

Moved into Homestay  last night.....great room as usual.....had SWS this morning (NA NA). Been talking to Paige last night and this evening. She is so gracious and fun.... I think  we are an experiment for Paige's new staff.

I didn't get to meet anyone but I am sure I will on another trip.
Dan you better start picking up some beer cans to recycle so you can get down to Branson before the end of the season
Hopefully I will be able to make a board meeting one of these evenings.
It was great to see Paige, they have painted the rooms, seemed like they were spruced up a little over the winter and that's always a good thing
Looking forward to another great year at Homestay.
Everybody make sure to pay Paige a visit, she truly enjoys the company.

We have board meeting every Sat nite that we are in town...  MH, you and anyone else from here are welcome to stop in and join us... .  Just remember we don't start until about 10 in the evening....

Might be a good time to remind everyone to leave feddback for Paige on Tripadvisor,,l,  she only has 83 reviews and is rated 63rd in branson.... I am pretty sure she was much higher last year or so..... but it takes LOTS of good reviews to offset 1 or 2 bad ones...  jump in there and help her out!

 if you have stayed at Classic you may want to review them also...  they have 97 reviews and are rated at 46th...

Hold the phones!!!    BAD NEWS!!!!...   The PTB at Homestay has just closed Paige down again!!    This time he closed it for the season...  says he will be selling the property...!! 
   
Now here is the deal he closed it down today with no warning! Just walked in and said Monday will be the last day,,,,

They are completely booked for car show weekend , over 55 rooms... too bad!...  who is going to call customers and let them know....  his answer, nobody.. put a note on the door.!!   NOT GOOD!!!

So I propose this (and yes I am pi**** paige doesn't deserve this kind of treatmen!t), Absolutely boycott all Elliot Lodging properties everywhere...  in branson that would be Econo Lodge & Best Western on east 76...  We don't need to support a company that has no more respect for their employees OR customers than this..!!!

We still have our discount rates at Classic, so give them a call and try them out.!!

For the time being I would suggest you don't call Paige for a couple of days... With no warning that this was going to happen she is a little out of place right now....  Call her next week.....

junior, other than the guy that owns it is a moron?...

He does not like independent motels, would rather own franchise...  not sure why..

Homestay is in the need of serious updating and repair, he does not want to spend money on it.....

Also said that not making any money on it this year..!!  DUH!!!  didn't open until June 1st!   AND he transferred ALL of Paiges seasoned crew to Econo..... So she had all new crew and trying to train them also, has had some personel problems, But has only been open 6 weeks...??

Not sure what he expects.....

Motel is in too poor of shape to qualify for franchise as it sits.....

I don't know.....  just a poor way to handle a business decision... NO warning of any kind.......

Classic Moter Inn is where I will be staying from here on out.  Sand I thank you for hooking us all up with that.  My brother called tonight to make a reservation this weekend and he told me they were closing.  I came to the boards to see that the word is out.  Glad you got this out quickly.  I hope Paige does ok, I am sure she will fine something better!.

So sorry to hear that this has happened to Paige; she doesn't deserve such treatment. I've thought something was up since this spring when the opening kept getting pushed back. It was strange driving up and down SOTH and all of the motels were open except Homestay.

We've been staying at Classic the past 2 years during the winters and continued on this spring since Homestay wasn't open. The Classic is a good value and the staff does go out of its way to take care of guests.

Paige, if you're reading this ---  You have been great to all of us. WE WISH YOU THE BEST and hope you find a new job soon!  Keep us posted on your whereabouts!

Wow.... I'm just flabbergasted!!! Can't believe it! Let us know if you need a letter of recommendation. I know a few hundred people that would be willing to vouch for ya.

Keep Paige in your prayers, she's gone through a lot these last few months.  It's been really hard on her.  But we know that she will land on her feet.

We are headed down today, going to get PAige away from the motel for a while, hang out, partake in beverages , have dinner and catch a show.!

Alos going to Katy at Classic again to verify everything there,,,,
