Hm, I have mixed feelings. A sports complex would be great for the regional community, and such. I'm not so sure how beneficial it would be for tourist though. I know when I am in Branson, the last thing I want to do is anything "sporty." :P

However, anything that draws in more attention, and revenue for Branson is a good thing! Plus, the use of existing facilities is an excellent decision.

I could see maybe a AA baseball team moving in, but don't they already have that in Springfield?

IDK, Columbia seems to benefit a lot from the Rainbow Softball Complex at Cosmo Park.  There are tournaments every weekend it seems and that brings money to the town.  IF they were to have a large sports complex in Branson, that could bring in more money to the area.  Granted, they would need more than just baseball/softball fields.  Soccer, Hockey, Basketball.  It could work

This is like muni waterparks, Everyone thinks it'll lead to a little tourism. Some work, some don't. Fayetteville is looking into a large sports complex for a vast track of land it has on the south end of town. there's only so many a weekend during the summer and not everyone can host a big tourney and lots of established ones have the edge.

If Branson thinks/needs a sports cpmplex, more power to them. I hope it works out like they want..... BUT I don't think Red Roof Mall is the righj locations..  OR anywhere in the 76 hiway or OLD branson area..  Put it up north near the other complex and tie it all together..

I don't think we need the added "sports" traffic in town..  If the sports enthusiasts want to drive to 76 and play, bring it on!!

Doesn't really fit with the ambiance of the town of Branson, don't really see it as a big sports destination.

You do realize that Branson hosts the NAIA Div II Basketball Finals every year, right?
My guess is you did not.

There's already the Doubleday baseball camp in Branson West.

Swoosh, that event is held at the college isn't it.?

Branson is famous for it's shows, and entertainment. Not so much for sports. I'm sure Branson would be a great place for regional sporting events, but I don't imagine it will ever have a notable athletic presence.

How about redeveloping Red Roof Mall and CC as casinos?  ;)
