Does SDC have anything similiar to Disney's child swap for rides?  (If a child is too short for the ride, the first parent goes on the ride,  then the second parent can get a "fast pass" to the front of the line to ride after first parent is done.)

yes i am sure they do, but I am unable to find the details on the website..  I am sure one of the other members will post the details for you.

I have seen it used on Powderkeg-the parent with the child will wait in line as usual, when it is thier turn to ride, one parent  crosses over as if they are not riding, and waits at the exit of the ride while the other is riding, then on the following ride, they switch. They have you leave the loading dock for safety reasos, but when loading is taking place, they allow you back on the next train. One issue is if the rides are using more than one vehicle, logically, you will wait through one ride before your spouse returns, though usually those in line understand, and don't complain.

Yes we have Child Swap. I work the Plunge we use it there.

We child swap often.  It's not quite like how most of Disney's rides work with a pass, though.  Often at SDC, you can time it yourself in the line.  For example--PK or WF.  Everyone waits together.  First parent goes on the ride, and everyone else waits.  You can the wait in line with your child until the other parent gets back if there is one train.  If there is more than one train, you can let other people ahead of you one party at a time until the train returns.  At Lost River and AP, you will need to tell the ride ops.

You want to start over?

I have the best (and worst) of both worlds right now.  I have a 19 month old and a 13 year old.   :)

No thanks, mine is 32 with 2 of her own..  You know?   the good kind?

Thats Right! Grandkids!  you spoil them when they are good, or you can send them home if they are misbehaving..

Thats the best!!!

History Buff

We've all waited in line and then made the swap with two consecutive rides.

We've also just hailed a ride op at the exit and not waited in line at all, but that didn't feel right.

Heh.

When we got married, we each had two kids, and agreed four was plenty. Despite the best efforts of modern pharmacology, Little Mister Mid-Life Surprise came along exactly nine months and one day after the wedding.  :o  ;D

So, I instantly transitioned from being eligible for retirement when my youngest was a college junior, to facing mandatory retirement when my youngest is a high school senior. ...whooooah....  :o :o :o

I think the child swap idea is good, but parents have become so protective and kids so afraid of "stranger danger!", I don't know how well it will work.
