Quote from: hollijo on Today at 11:05:18 AMI have a feeling everyone will be quite pleased with 2029/30

2029.  Unless plans change
But let's enjoy this for now
Swoosh don't try to correct me now after everything over the past months lol. They have still not fully ironed out details leaving the year up in the air. But yes let's enjoy this "direct TNT replacement" and thank you for the call out of being correct all along.

Where were you today? Or were you hiding?

I saw BA-Adventures, Coaster101, Melanin Coasters, ACE/Negative-G, 🤮 Taylor from CS, Thrill Network and a few random ones I've never heard of before

Hellbender

A lot of my feelings around what I perceive as "light" theming would be forgiven if the area was heavily forested. I would argue SDC's tree canopy is what provides the park with 80-90 percent of its charm. Take that away and it's largely a bunch of (now) brightly-colored wood sheds.

Give me this exact ride layout set through the woods, and I would be largely content. But when you hype up theme and story so much, and the set up is a trip into a mine shaft through an unexplored part of Marvel Cave, I want you to take me there.

To be clear: If you're excited for this, I'm happy for you. This will be a fun ride for what it is. My disappointment lies in what it could have been, and the direction it implies for the future of the park. Think about it: if a brand-new family mine ride isn't themed to the max, you just know anything more thrill-oriented down the road is going to be even more bare bones.

This is a big part of my disappointment.  I was expecting theming on the level of Hagrids or Expedition Everest.  This appears to be a mine headframe, a small tunnel and some rocks.  I was hoping they would redeem themselves after cheaping out on the Time Traveler launch building.

Quote from: MidwestInfoGuide on Today at 10:50:29 AMAnd finally congrats to hollijo for being the first to post what the ride was going to be. I'm sure a lot us knew you were right, but we couldn't just come right out and say it at the time.

Okay Swoosh, are you telling us that you intentionally said this was NOT at TNT replacement and also the announcement would be in September to intentionally deceive us into believing hollijo was incorrect?

Quote from: MidwestInfoGuide on Today at 01:08:40 PMI'm still not sure why everyone was so quick to to be convinced it would be a Stryker.  Is it because that's the cool new thing from Mack?

My favorite guess was the hyper.  There was no chance that was ever gonna be the correct answer.

What else is first in North America but not world from MACK? I guess first in the world also counts but odd to not mention that instead, which i guess two lifts on a YoungSTAR is what they meant.

Swoosh has no connection to the park and has continued to be wrong in his predictions time and time again. He is going to say whatever he needs to say to protect his image lol. Swoosh also has no idea who "the little kid who doesn't know what he's talking about" is.

Swooosh brought up that FanFest was probably when they were going to announce it, and that's not a crazy theory for anyone to think of. Several people mentioned that possibility as well.

he said it was "confirmed" to be in September and that the only "replacement" this is for TNT is that they are both rolleorcasters. He's not trying to hide what it is he just doesn't know what he's talking abt 😭

It's ok not to know what you are talking about. It's not ok to be as arrogant as he was about it.

Wildfire

Swoosh, it's ok to admit you were wrong about almost everything on this one.  September announcement, no lift hills, multiple launches, etc

It might be too late to admit he was wrong since he is still acting like he knew all along.

I still don't understand why some people here have a problem with the theming it's way better than the theming on big bear mountain I do get that the marketing probably hyped us up a little too much but we really shouldn't assume this is bland people are already thinking this could potentially be the best mine train ever made and I'll admit I was a tad bit disappointed at first but it's starting to grow on me right now so I'm excited to ride this

Plus I do think we might get more details on this ride at fanfest so again we shouldn't judge this coaster too much

The ride was originally supposed to coexist (for at least a year) with TNT meaning it wasn't a replacement (at the time).

The announcement thing was odd coming together. First it was said to coincide with Fan Fest but then they added the Mini Miners thing and I think it just snowballed to what it was today.  As is, I have no idea what Fan Fest will have to talk about

Holijo congratulations again on being the first to spill the beans.  I know you don't like me and that's completely your prerogative. I am connected to the park.  I personally have relationships with numerous citizens and uppers. Like I've said numerous times this go around I'm no longer interested in the "game" - so congratulations I'm passing the tin foil crown off to you.  Enjoy

I'm headed home now, I'll get the blog updated by later this evening

I went out this morning and picked up a Pathfinder to add to my collection. The more I look at the details, the POV, and after talking with some of the employees, the happier I am that my guess was wrong. I should have went with my gut from a month ago about the ride envelope leaving the station, as it turns out it was not an optical illusion. This thing actually looks like a really cool mine train.

I never have really bought into the idea that TNT is was closing because of the lawsuit. It sits on top of the cave. Ground is not as static is we would like to believe. Something happened during the summer when Time Traveler was being built to were the tunnel was riding great one week, and it was almost "The Boss" bad the next.  It was a jarring change, and it has not been the same sense. Ive helped repair a lot of public utilities that broke because of shifting ground, and what ever happened in the tunnel is not a cheap or easy fix. I think the seeds for this ride were planted the summer Time Traveler was built.

I always wondered why they built a roller coaster so close (or is it actually on top?) to the cave. It's amazing that the foundations of the ride have lasted as long as they have.
