SDC sent out a survey on a family rollercoaster coming in 2029.  This appears to be something like Big Bear Mountain or the new Werewolf Canyon coming to SFFT in 2027.

My thoughts are that THIS will be the TNT replacement.

Sorry I did not get screenshots (yes huge Thoosie fail on my part)

This!  That is what I truly feel.  I am 100% convinced the 2027 coaster is a Stryker and the next one will be young kid friendly.  They were not expecting to close TNT after this year.  The 2027, first of it's kind in the States, was planned well before.

2029 would be a record turnaround for them. Two new attractions within two years of each other? Couldn't be SDC.

I have a gut feeling that the current plot of land Thunderation sits on will be used to expand the BOH area. Unless they start demolishing the ride immediately after it closes, I can't imagine them having a family coaster ready to open in that plot of land in 2029.

I know there's a lot of speculation that the old Fire in the Hole area will be used as a new train depot, but they could also fit a family multi-launch in that plot of land. Might be a better spot traffic-wise, too. The Time Traveler/Thunderation corner needs some serious expansion to address overcrowding.

^I don't see them trying to cram a coaster in the old FITH space. I also don't think they are short on BOH space in the area where TNT sits. I do think they want another ride near where TNT sits, because they don't want the coaster seeking crowds bunched up in the NW corner of the park.

Family launch coasters are still all the rage. I was always surprised we never got our version of firechaser express.

^^That speculation on TNT being a 'surprise' closure is kind of what I've been thinking. I think after the incidents it has suffered with trees falling on tracks, an employee death, and just general age and maintenance concerns someone finally threw a fit about it at the corporate level. Probably saw the bill for replacing a large section of track and just didn't see the ROI in keeping it around another decade.

TNT's replacement is coming in 2027. This will either be a STRYKER, Hyper or another family coaster. Also to be built by MACK.

I had thought a smaller scale coaster of that variety could be worked in up on the corner hill past Time Traveler and snake around Grand Expo. My original thought if they had not built the current plaza by FITH 2 is they would have just placed a small outdoor coaster out there to do the same from that direction. 3rd option would be to take down the Waterboggan Tower, use the land for a station, and have it meander around and pass over the pathways a couple times. Sadly this option would probably mark the end of all the mature pine trees in that area as they help shade the pathways on hot days. I suspect thats partially why the tower hasn't been touched after all these years.

An idea that I really don't want to come to fruition, but I could see them using the land where Birdies Cabin/ apple butter/ petting zoo area for an expansion. It's not that popular of a spot unless you're a regular visitor to the park, and would allow for an easy footprint expansion near the entrance.

But I also like my quiet areas and hope this never happens

I didn't get screenshots either but here's what I posted after I got the survey with the 3 choice names:

I got an email a couple of hours ago from SDC about the naming of a new family coaster being built.  The name choices were:

Miner's Rush
Prospector's Rush
Daredevil Railway

I was asked which name I preferred (I picked Miner's Rush) and which names fit in with the theme of the park.  I was then asked who I thought the name would appeal to (pre-teens, teens, adults, older adults, etc).  Then I was asked to put the names in order as 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice and I put them in the order above.  The first questions asked were if I and my family were season pass holders and to choose from the last 5 years if we had bought season passes (we have all 5 years).  Unfortunately this sounds like a T-N-T replacement to me.

None of these names have any active, pending, or historical filings in Class 041 (Amusement Park Services) with the USPTO.  I can't imagine SDC would publicly release potential ride names without having secured (or at least applied for) the trademark first, be it through a shell company or outright.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but I just wonder why do you assume this survey was for a 2029 coaster? SDC calls all their coaster "family coasters".

Good point, it's interesting tho  because they don't have any trademarks out for ride names (Where they have a lot for new shops and restaurants) They obviously know what it's going to be called I think they are just waiting to trademark it until it's closer to the announcement so people like us don't find out.

Because if we decided that the T-N-T replacement is after the current coaster being built then the survey and coaster name choices sound like a T-N-T replacement to me.  Of course we could all be wrong and this could have everything to do with the 2027 project.

I think we're losing the plot.  Survey about a family coaster coming in 2029.

Who cares if it's a TNT replacement.  It's another coaster coming already.
