As far as the flooded mine ride, I'd love it if they did for it what they did for fire in the hole... unlikely as it may be

Wildfire

We are on park now and there are footers going in directly under Wildfire's lift hill.  You can only really see it while riding Powderkeg.  Also several footers clustered together between Wildfire's entrance and American Plunge.  They have excavated right up beside the AP channel by the whirlpool

🤔 very very interesting...
Not saying it is but it could go either way...

legoerosion

I'm still holding out for a Mack Strykercoaster, especially after the "first in the United States" comments from fan-fest. (Which could be said for a lot of different models from different manufacturers, but still.) If the latest additions that Swooosh added hold true to the end of the construction process (lots of tunnels), imagine a section where you enter a tunnel with the shake effect track that Voltron has, and then you launch out to escape the collapsing cave!

Or it could be Mack's mine train but unpowered.

ColaSDC

are there any b&m models that haven't been built in the US?

Yeah I forgot about the first of its kind statement. It may actually be a Mack Hyper or Stryker coaster. The footers match up with that design. Though that would be mind blowing for SDC to get two major coasters back to back from the same company. Especially when Dollywood still hasn't gotten their rumored Mack coaster as of yet. (at least until 2026 if you want to count NightFlight as a regular coaster)

rabidplatypus

I'm 99% sure it's going to be a launched coaster especially after bringing out that cannon and talking about launching at fanfest. So the Stryker model seems to be a top candidate!

One strike against that model is that it doesn't match the concept art in the survey. I know that it is just concept art in a survey, but the train layout is completely different. I also hope that it has something like a 39" minimum height for more families.

For all we know if it's Mack again they could be jumping on the Wing Coaster train (pun intended) with their own model to compete with B&M. The previous "Take Flight" teaser still sticks with me on that aspect.

Where was that teaser at again? I've tried looking for it before but couldn't remember where it was.

The more I think about it, I do think there is something bigger at play here as well. Piggybacking back to what Dewayne said about an AP replacement, I could see that happening as well, especially with the fact that we now have two very distinct and different themes floating around - the Ozarkian Daredevil Society and the Marvel Cave Mining Co, as well as Swooosh's comment from a few months ago that there were "too many moving parts. Too many pots on the fire". If the are is already prepped for a ride that you plan on replacing soon, why not do it when you can before you have to move around two rides? Only downside would be losing a good ride for summers that does great to keep the lines down. Or I could be reading into all of it too much because I'm bored at work waiting for 5 pm to strike.

I don't recall a Take Flight teaser for SDC... that was the teaser for Dollywood's new ride.

The footers are massive. Bigger than Wildfire's which I consider the bulkiest coaster in the park. There is about 14 total I've counted so far, some going deep into the valley with new forms placed further out. The ones mentioned under Wildfires lift hill look to be about 5-7 feet across, but I can't legally get pics. Footers this big means massive height/forces and massive columns are going in to support it. Like hyper/giga territory. (unless its something with bulky trains like a Wing or Dive Coaster)

I attached a pic of both Wildfire and Wild Eagle's footers for comparison.

I know I've been biased about B&M and I really like what Mack had done with TT but SDC really does need another reliable people eater like the former when you consider this resort they are about to open.

rabidplatypus

What is the rebar sticking up from the footers? Is that where more concrete is going or where the support will attach to the footer? And why is the rebar on the first footer in a square pattern but the rest round? Could that be a clue to manufacturer?

That's just part of the construction process for the column mounting points, still too early to tell the manufacturer until track shows up. But the list of likely candidates is pretty small now with seeing these. I still can't get over the size of those footers directly below Wildfires lift hill turn.

There's also this which would coincide with the opening.
