Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2026 Tracker
Last post by sdcfan88 - May 27, 2025, 02:12:47 PMMacks take on Dollywoods Mystery Mine would be a fantastic addition to the park though I had always suspected they would have used the land where Flooded Mine and the Waterboggan Tower currently sits.
Lost Gravity's layout would be a reference to how the ride would likely be designed. Hopefully it would be better themed though with multiple pass thru elements and tunnels. I also hope this isn't meant to be TNT's replacement thematically. That being said I wish the park would get away from area/ride replacements and focus on additions instead. They have the land and soon to be Resort to justify it.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: 2025 Trip Reports
Last post by sdcfan88 - May 27, 2025, 02:06:47 PMI remember the top complaint when Grand Expo was new was the lack of tree canopy making that area too hot to hang out in during the summer. Some additional somewhat mature foliage around the tables would help the new area out a lot as the trees in Grand Expo have grown in quite nicely offering shade making it feel less like a former parking lot.

1000% this. The parks are becoming too corporate now and it shows. Most notably in the past 5-6 years or so.

Last post by shavethewhales - May 27, 2025, 01:08:02 PMHmmm, if Mack does end up being the manufacturer, it's hard to see which product makes the most sense in that location. If it's like Wiener Looping, then wouldn't that be odd next to Wildfire? If it's like Stardust Racers, then doesn't that look odd next to Powderkeg? Perhaps we're getting a water coaster again.

Last post by shavethewhales - May 27, 2025, 01:01:08 PMI see it now. So they did add some siding treatment, it's just hard to notice behind the food stands. I guess that's better than nothing, but it's just short of what they needed to do to add some real ambiance to the area. In the good old days they would have extended the facades up to hide the HVAC units and probably broken it up into false store fronts with lots of cheeky signage, props, etc. What they did just makes it look a little bit more like a barn...
I'm sure they'll work on it a bit over time. I know they wanted to leave it open to allow for large crowds since there aren't many other places for people to congregate in the park, but a few more trees would have a large impact.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Dynamic Pricing
Last post by shavethewhales - May 27, 2025, 12:54:10 PMDynamic pricing is just another way for them to squeeze more out of you. All the days you want to go will now cost more, in exchange for the days you can't go being cheaper. I really hate how HFEC follows these greedy industry trends now. As if trailblazer wasn't bad enough.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Dynamic Pricing
Last post by Lampie - May 27, 2025, 11:16:53 AMJust did a survery that was focused on likely hood to buy various tickets at various prices. They were including a description of 3 different types of days off-peak, standard, and peak. They also asked about various price points for the levels of season passes(all at or above the peak price they hit about this time of year). At the end they asked some specific questions about dynamic pricing.
I think it would be good for them to actually do it but I want to see the standard days be at about the current price, and slow days actually be discounted a little bit to help drive traffic to those days. I hope it's more of a set pricing for slow days versus peak instead of truly dynamic pricing where it is constantly changing based on demand.

Last post by Pudgy Jones - May 27, 2025, 08:58:25 AMDo we expect that they will eventually move the crafts booths to the Plaza area for the fall festival? I certainly hope not. I understand that this flex space certainly makes the logistics of set up and tear down easier, but the space has zero ambiance. I can go to festivals in a parking lot at home.

Last post by mg - May 26, 2025, 05:37:12 PMI feel like the only additional thing that they could have done (without an extreme remodel) would have been a false wall to hide the hvac units, but at least they painted them to match.
They also went into detail to paint the speakers to match their background so they didn't standout. Some of the WiFi access points are painted to match too... hopefully they take care of the other ones too.
