Construction/Rumors / Re: Project 2026 Tracker

In all likelihood this is a 2027 project. I was there last Sunday and the construction area looked stagnet minus the expanded demo work around AP that was already touched on here.

Quote from: legoerosion on August 18, 2025, 07:39:58 AMA new trademark was filed back in May for something called "Stars, Lights, & Christmas Nights" I'd assume it's for the new Plaza area...

I saw that awhile back. It is registered decorative magnets, drink ware, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pants, hats, etc, Ornaments, snow globes, AND Conducting of parades for entertainment purposes.

The parade part is what I found the most interesting. I'm not sure how long Herschend has the Rudolph license.

It has now been confirmed that 2025 will be the final year for the Rudolph parade. Could we be getting an all new Stars, Lights, and Christmas Nights parade in 2026?

^ I guess we'll know when they make the announcement for what's new for 2026 during the September 27th rally.

Since there doesn't appear to be a lot of work currently occurring, will this ride be ready in time for 2026?

I balked at this when it was first brought up but with seeing the concepts this actually works for me. It will make the vehicles look less like corporate fleet vehicles.

Here are the designs that they shared. Yes, it looks like all of the current vehicles are getting wrapped. It will be done in phases.

It looked to me like all the vehicles are getting vinyl wraps. Trams included.

It's not quite a major announcement, but it's nice that they are putting a little attention into something that could easily be ignored - or even worse, slowly converted into all-paid parking like pretty much every other park now. Does Dollywood even have free parking anymore? SDC would be well justified in charging at this point considering what they spent to completely re-do the parking over the last decade. They probably spent tens of millions on just parking, with all that grading and fill not to mention repaving everything...

Nice they got a few extra dollars from slapping some O'Reillys logos on there, lol. At least it's not as bad as the Six Flags coaster train wraps  ;D

Oh good.  So they are just theme painting the vans and buses that they already have.  Those trams carry a lot of people at once. I just figured with the big announcement their smoke belching days were numbered.  I definitely prefer the trams to the vans though I'm not waiting for them specifically. If the van or bus shows up first that's what I ride  Me and the trams go back a long way though!

Definitely better painted though than not.  Why not theme paint the trams though, also?

The trams aren't going anywhere. This sponsorship just getting them all new designs and helps keep parking free.

Also, this isn't the first sponsorship... O'Reilly is replacing Napa as the transportation sponsor.

So it's out with the trams and in with sponsored, painted vans and buses.  I was excited at first when I saw carriages, wagons, and stage coaches mentioned, but then I saw the renderings and well..., I guess it was time for the trams to go and this is what they decided on. They  should get the job done well enough.  Missing the green trams  though now, tbh.
