Something too with losing TNT is we will be losing more of the neat theming and awesome hand painted signs in the park. Particularly inside the station building. Hopefully they can be repurposed at other rides/coasters and not binned.

Wow that is great.  I never got to ride BSF.  I am thinking I am spotting the parts that still exist that are the current PK.  I like PK but too bad they couldn't keep this one going as well.

Quote from: Coaster on February 21, 2026, 04:16:07 PMThis one hurts. I saw the writing on the wall awhile ago...pretty soon the park will be vastly different than what I grew up with. I anticipate the train station is going to relocate, we'll get a new entrance eventually, LROtO is gone, FITH is gone. TNT was my first coaster. I know things have to change for progress but this hurts to lose. It was a special, classic mine train coaster.

I don't think that TNT is going to be rebranded with this new attraction as was the case with FITH. They're using the language of "retired" and their marketing is basically saying that TNT is no more, look for something bigger/better.

The park is already vastly different from what I grew up with. I remember the excitement of FITH being a new ride, but it was still mostly about the theme back then.

I accept the need for coasters, but the race to out-coaster amusement parks is the death of SDC as a theme park.

1. Brown or other neutral earth colors

2. They sent out a survey on potential names awhile back.  I'm guessing it's one of those

3.  Yes tunnels.  No subterranean

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Potential Lore of SDC
Last post by Russell - February 20, 2026, 05:19:12 PM
Hello! A friend and I were discussing how there are no video essays explaining the lore of Silver Dollar City. We spent about an hour searching online—going through Reddit threads, Facebook groups, and pretty much everything else we could find—but we didn't come across anything useful. We believe there must be a significant storyline connecting everything in the park, including the rides and the character actors and actresses.

While browsing, I stumbled upon this forum where some accounts date back to 2007, so I'm sure someone here knows something about it. Feel free to reply to me here or email me. We're simply trying to understand the lore (both fictional and non-fictional) of the city and theme park for fun to pass the time in class, and then share it with others. We're two exhausted seniors ready to graduate, so anything to help kill time is welcome.

What we are looking for:
- Historic background of park
- Character storylines and heated rivaries
- Potential rides with connection to park backstory
- Past and current staff memebers who are interested in participating in online interviews via email
- Articles, photos, videos, past interviews, etc.
- Anything deemed reasonable for the research by you

Thanks!
