Random Talk / Re: 2011 Trips

We are gearing up for our next trip Monday, May 30 - Friday, June 3. We are staying at Eagle Lodge for the first time and also in the plans are Ride the Ducks on Monday, and Noah on Tuesday. The hubby and I saw it a few years ago but this time we are taking our boys, 5 & 2, since it is the last season. And of course, hitting SDC as much as possible! I'm hoping the crowds will be low, especially Tuesday-Thursday. Arkansas school will not be out yet, due to snow days, not sure about MO or OK.

I also wanted to apologize for not posting any pics from our last trips but I do have them up on Facebook and you are welcome to friend me and have a look. Just be sure to say you are from the SDCfans when requesting so I know you are "okey-dokey"!

We leave for our anniversary, kid-free trip in less than 11 hours! Not sure if we will hit World Fest tomorrow afternoon when we get to town or just wait till Friday, but I'm excited! I guess should get to bed soon, huh?  ;D

We are going next weekend. I have printed out a schedule and am marking which shows I really want to see and their "priority" to me and just trying to figure out a plan from there. Sorry, that's not much help.

Branson Talk / Kid-free Anniversary Trip advice
March 31, 2011, 11:24:38 PM
The hubby and I have a 3 night, kid-free trip to Branson in 2 weeks to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We are very excited, and slightly nervous. It's the longest we have been away from our boys, but they will be in good hands with my parents.  We are staying in a Loft Suite at the Keeter Center and having brunch there on Sunday (our last day).

I am wondering if you guys can offer advice about places to eat the other days Thursday, Friday & Saturday for lunch/supper. I know we will do Danna's, that's our fav, but I was wondering about some less loud/crowded/touristy places. Not necessarily romantic or fancy, just a place we may not normally be able to enjoy when we have our boys with us.
I was planning to go to Cantina Loredo at the Landing, but have read some negative reviews about mediocre food and bad service.
And we will go to SDC (we have season passes) and I'm sure eat some there, maybe some special things for World Fest.
Any suggestions?

We arrived home this evening after spending 4 days/3 nights at SDC for opening weekend. We had a great time. I'll try to write a detailed report soon.

Already have mine printed off!

Wondering if you guys can help me.
On the website, this is the info given for River Blast-
"Minimum Height Requirement: 48 inches
Companion Information: Guests under 48" who meet all ride requirements may ride with a supervising companion at least 16 years old who also meets all ride requirements."

On the map it is listed as a 2 which says "guest between 36-48" may ride with a supervising companion . . ."

My son is 2 years old and 34 1/2 inches and he road River Blast at Christmas. I was under the impression it was a no height requirement ride. The River Battle at Dollywood is listed as no height requirement.
Do you think they let him on at Christmas because they weren't shooting water?

It seems to me that SDC has height requirements on rides where they are not needed. For instance, the dumbo ride and teacups at Disney World have no height requirement, but at SDC you have to be 36" for the elephant march and royal tea party.
