Engine 14 is a beauty! With Engine 14 this year, and Engine 504 last year, what are the rumors, or speculations for Engines 13, 43, and 76? Any future retirement plans? Either way, this is an exciting time for the Frisco Silver Dollar Line! ;D

Of all places, there were several copies in the candy factory when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I picked up a copy of the DVD while also grabbing some fudge.  ;D

I unexpectedly ran into Tim Tracker by the front entrance. He was being escorted by a Silver Dollar City staff member. Talk about a surprise! ;D

Picture attached. Sorry, sirwillow. :)

Just out of coincidence, I will be there on November 11th. I did not know ACE was attending also. It should be a fun, yet packed city! ;D

I noticed this as well! Back in March, I was a dork and used the webcams to take a screen shot of myself outside the Titanic. Unfortunately, for the past several years, the webcams were always dirty from the outside elements, and hard to see through. However, I still viewed them regularly. Bummer.  :'(

Great pictures, sirwillow! And yes, you are definitely the professional. Haha.

Despite the dark environment, you did a great job of capturing the action with as little motion blur as possible. Impressive! The colors in your pictures really pop. I have tried taking pictures on the Flooded Mine, but I end up having to use the flash on my camera. Needless to say, that "technique" totally washes out the mood lighting, and the ambiance. :P

I love the shot of the loading, and unloading operator working the control panel. What an interesting prospective! Keeping spoiling us rotten with your pictures please! :D

Sanddunerider came up with a great list of updated items. Does anyone else know of even more items on the ride that have been updated?

I know I am late to this post. However, any success with your pictures sirwillow? I know you are the professional. ;D

On a side note, the Flooded Mine does look absolutely amazing! I was so surprised, and excited when I first saw all of the updates this year. I give huge props to tinmann620, and the gang over there at the Flooded Mine. Here is to another 50 seasons! ;D

The ride is really starting to take a shape! Look at all of that glorious track. I agree sanddunerider about the trees. The more the better!  :)

Wow! I am incredibly jealous! Well, when you get ready to sell it, let me know. Haha. Just teasing. That is truly a treasure, and what a unique piece of Silver Dollar City history!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Midnight Madness park music

I am just thankful they are not playing Lady Gaga, or similar pop music like they did a few years ago! :P

I love bluegrass music, and there are few things sweeter than strolling through the hills of Silver Dollar City with the ambiance of the banjo, fiddle, and mandolin tickling the ears. When I was there this previous weekend, I did notice the shift at about 5:00 PM, or so from traditional bluegrass to the more modern country when Moonlight Madness started.

My last guess and I don't think this sign is red. But is there not a sign that says Thank you FOR visiting Wilson's farm as you exit the area ?

Nailed it! 8)

I was at the park on Saturday, and guess what I saw? Scooby Doo, and Shaggy being escorted through the park! Now, to be fair they were probably just walking from point A to point B, and I never saw them again throughout the day. However, Silver Dollar City officially "broke the fourth wall" on theme at that point. :o

According to Silver Dollar City's website, they plan to host several Character Breakfasts to include Scooby Doo, and Shaggy, along with Sponge Bob Square Pants, and Patrick.

I can remember as a kid in the 1990's how prevalent Nickelodeon was all over the park. Being a youngster, I didn't appreciate the theme aspect of the park like I do today. I just recall how much I did not want to end up with green slime on my head! Haha.

I can definitely understand the sentiments voiced here. However, as long as these cheap characters remain hidden in an enclosed breakfast area, and are not roaming the park, then I can look passed it.

I completely agree with the lack of originality, and creativity. The picture on Facebook definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully, the Ninja Turtles will be limited to an enclosed breakfast area, and will not be free roaming the park.

I think Silver Dollar City does great job with their character actors. Of course you have Terry, and Mandi, and the other street troupe crew. The train robbers are always a hoot. I would not say that Silver Dollar City has lost touch with their roots. Rather, I think Silver Dollar City wanted a cheap gimmick to entice kids, and parents to come to the park, and spend money on a special breakfast.

Frustrating? Yes. Disappointing? Absolutely. However, as long as the Ninja Turtles are not a permanent staple or focal point, I don't anticipate it being a deal breaker for most.

And frankly, I don't understand why in the world they would not have Lucky the Dog at one of these breakfasts. He's a character they specifically created for SDC!!! Makes no sense.

I agree! However, let's face it. Lucky the Dog just does not have the universal appeal of the Ninja Turtles.
