In a way I kind of like Dollywood and SDC having completely different coasters. I don't want it to be like six flags or Disney where they are all a copy lol

I also forgot to add the turnstiles have 2D scanners so now you don't have to print tickets off! You can pull the page up on your phone and they can scan the barcode on your phone! They are easier for hosts to operate because all they have to do is scan the ticket or pass. It's new technology and the company says its equipped so that it can adapt with future technology as well.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Turnstiles

When I visited Dollywood last weekend I noticed they had new turnstiles this year. Has SDC gotten new ones too? The ones at Dollywood have LCD screens one that faces the operator and tells them what they scanned like "one day admission child" or "season pass" and the other faces the guest and says messages like "welcome to Dollywood" and when the operator scans the pass or ticket "have a great day!". I must say they were pretty cool.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Outlaw run downtime
July 05, 2013, 03:41:59 PM
Well at the beginning of this year Mystery Mine at Dollywood was having a lot of downtime and riding very rough. An employee said on screamscape that they called Gerstauler and they replaced all the wiring and Dollywood also replaced Mystery Mine's trains with brand new ones complete with Dollywood's updated logo and the employee reports since then operation has been optimal with no downtime and since getting new trains guest complaints have dropped significantly. I rode the ride last weekend and the ride has improved! It was VERY smooth! It's also still popular with Guests. The line was all the way down the stairs last weekend. So it's still a popular coaster. SDC will work out the kinks. It just takes time.

Dollywood Discussion / Re: What the Heck, Adventure Mnt. closed
December 10, 2012, 08:13:31 PM
Dollywood makes Mountain Slidewinder's rafts in a boat building shop behind the ride. They aren't hard they are a soft but it's hard to describe them. They are kind of like rubber or foam. lol. I am surprised Adventure Mountain is being removed. Maybe it was the maintenance for the attractions. I noticed when I first tried it in May 2010 that some of the ropes were getting rugged looking and were shredding at the bottoms. I would imagine they had to replace these. Wonder what they could be putting in it's place?

Well Dollywood did the same thing with Wild Eagle and started advertising early. DW season pass sales were up a whopping 20%!! I think it's wise of SDC to do the same with Outlaw Run since it is Christmas time and that is when a lot of people renew their passes, buy passes for the first time, get passes after not having one for a few seasons, and decide whether they want to renew for another season or not. This may seem like a dumb question but are season passes more important to the park as far as making money and stuff goes? One thing I've noticed is that DW and SDC promote the heck out of buying season passes.

Also forgot to mention that if you have SOAPnet you can catch the same-day repeats of General Hospital weeknights at 9pm eastern if you don't have a DVR or TiVo or can't watch live.

Starting Monday September 10, 2012 General Hospital moves to 2pm Eastern Time on ABC. I want to encourage everyone to tune in! It has been soooo good! My wife and I are hooked lately. Jax's brother Jerry Jax, has poisoned the water in Port Charles and they are working to find a cure or all of Port Charles could die. It reminds me of all those stories in the 80s/90s when Luke & Laura were stopping people from taking over the world. Also, Duke Lavery was shown at the end of the Monday 8/27/12 episode! Everyone is suspecting he is holding Robin. Duke Lavery was trending worldwide on twitter after that scene aired. They interviewed GH exec producer and he said he would air again in about 4-5 weeks. I encourage everyone to watch! It looks so action packed. If you can't watch Live then set your DVR or TiVo.
Here's the promo.... Watch the promo everybody! lol It was featured on Entertainment Tonight.

Oh and it's not a remake. It's being called a continuation because Sue Ellen, J.R. and Bobby are on the show but their grown children have joined them. lol. I reccomend everyone try it out.

I saw it and I really liked it. I have to say this is going to be the show I watch on Wednesdays at 9. I'm done with Criminal Minds. That show has gotten out of hand with the violence and it's very disturbing (It's always been disturbing but seems like it's got worse) Anyways, I'll be watching DALLAS tomorrow night. The show got positive reviews and I looked on TVBYTHENUMBERS and it's premiere was the #1 cable show. Wouldn't that be something if it became the phenomenon it once was? lol

I was on Yahoo & the article was "Funniest roller coaster photos" I clicked on it & it took me to the Ellen Degeneres Show website. I love her show! I have now found myself hooked on GENERAL HOSPITAL again! It has seriously gotten good! Theirs the Kate Howard D.I.D. storyline, a few One Life to Live characters have come over, the Luke Spencer/ Anna Devane/ Tracy Quartermaine triangle, plus Felicia is back (hoping she gets back together with Mac), crazy Heather Webber is back on the show. I've found myself watching it every single day now. I quit watching it a few years back but now I'm happy to say I love it. Everybody should check it out!
