I have never understood the obsession with "perfect" communities. I would never live under an HOA; I don't even like zoning.

Freedom is frequently messy, but it's always beautiful. If you want to control what is done with a piece of property, buy it.

I think that all of us who visited SDC as kids dreamed about living there. I'm sure that's true of everyone's favorite park.

Some Disney fans got that chance. It turned into more of a nightmare.

Brazen.  Not a word you see every day.

Depends on what you read.  ;D

Is that too brazen of me?

I frequently have to remind people that despite their homophonic nature, "braised" and "brazed" are quite different, and braised meat is cooked low and slow in liquid, not seared over high heat; and brazing is a method of joining two pieces of metal together.

Chittlins, are you going to do Rhein Aflame while you're there? The Bingen section is Saturday the 6th.

Ok Sand, Iím getting ready to go on my annual Coaster Quest so Iíll need you to hold down the fort and do the daily reporting.  Thank you for your sacrifice.

You're doing Santa's Village and Storyland, right?  ;)

C'mon, I'll buy you a beer if you do.

I loved the rock slide. It was awesome before the ride had guns, and riders were actually involved in watching the scenery and wondering what was coming next.

Rider imagination interacting with ride creator imagination, instead of mindless pew-pew-pew... ah nostalgia.  :)

Definitely the Museum at College of the Ozarks, and it's a real bargain.

Does anyone know of a pre-shootout video of the flooded mine?

Only in my brain.

Same here. And the video is much better.

No constant pew-pew-pew-whing-clang, just imagination and crickets and parakeets (we hope!), and voices from the scenes.

The problem with "XYZ Day" at any venue, is that it gets filled with people who think it's all for them and theirs. They've probably never been there before, but they think that just being a member or affiliated with XYZ means they have special privileges.

this is a very loyal group of fans.

And by "very",  let me add my personal situation: I moved to New Hampshire. I haven't been home to Arkansas in four years (and my mother doesn't hesitate to remind me every time we talk!). Probably the only way I'll visit SDC again is if I win the lottery.

And if I win the lottery, I'll be staying at Ozark Valley Inn to thank them for their partnership with SDC fans!  :)

When I was young, we went to SFOT a few times, and we went to SDC.

By the age of 10, I hated SFOT and loved SDC. I consider SF the anti-SDC.

As the General Manager of Ozark Valley Inn, I'd like to join in the discussion and announce how truely excited and grateful we are to team up with SDC Fans! We are looking forward to meeting as many members as we can and to make this a wonderful season for all.

Andrea Belden

Welcome, Andrea!

As you've no doubt already noticed, this is a very loyal group of fans.

My son put his brand new Blackberry Pearl (to tell you how long ago this was!) in his cargo pocket before getting on Powder Keg... it was never seen again.
