Lake of the Ozarks
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:48:38 AM »
My first trip EVER (in my short 29 years) to LakeOfTheOzarks was this past weekend. I had no clue as to what I should expect, or what I would see there, I just knew when I talked about a "lake" since 1980 it has been Table Rock, however everyone else was speaking of the lake as the lake of the Ozarks. I got to spend some time on "the strip" near Bagnell Dam, here are a few photos from my day (yes I used another one of my many cameras to give a certain era or a "retro feel" to this timeless place.

What? No pictures of the fudge shop?  (I assume it's still there?) ;)

Yes they still have fudge! I believe it is at the Dogpatch store...or right close to it if I remember right. I know it was across the street from batting cages, Jesse James Hideout and a bunch of mini golf and bumper boats.

Great pics, Rube!  They remind me of the pictures during the credits for "National Lampoon's Vacation". :D

Thanks for the compliment! That is around the era of images that I was attempting at capturing.

"We went dancin' across the USA...." written by Lindsey Buckingham (Of Fleetwood Mac fame) is now stuck in my head!

"SoRRy FOlks Park's closed, moose out front shoulda told ya!"

If I remember correctly, that maze used to seem like it always had bees or wasps hanging around it.
