Wow!  The Bahamas...   :)

I survived my first day back.  It did go quickly because I had plenty of things to prepare for the rest of the week (copies, etc.).  Before I knew it, the day had ended and I caught my breath.  I hope the rest of the week is like today.  Plus, I found out sophomores are taking the ASVAB on Thurs.  Hopefully, I"ll be able to work on things a little during that time.

Well we'll be in Branson on the 5th for Coaster Christmas and then probably again on the 12th or 19th for our "family trip".

Going to the Bahamas is our Christmas present to each other. :)
That's where we went on our Honeymoon.

Joplin?  So do you know Kara Probert?  She's sort of my sister -- my parents are her god-parents.

I knew you lived here, but wasn't sure where you taught.  I know a couple of teachers in Diamond.  What do you teach?

Nope, I haven't heard of Kara.

I teach sophomore English and speech.  I do speech and debate (more speech than debate) and the fall play.  Who do you know at Diamond?

Hey, Swoosh, I noticed your tornado was featured on Storm Chasers last week.  They'll probably rerun the show before the new one this week if you care to relive it.

We had an early out due to weather yesterday and we had our first snow day of the year today.  There's about 4-6" of snow on the ground, but with the wind it is swirling around creating white out conditions.  With the wind chill, it feels like -5*F

As much as I need a snow day, my curriculum cannot handle another missed day. Between assemblies, and concert rehearsals, and other H1N1 factors, my classes are ALL a bit behind, and I will be utilizing every last second of the next 9 days fitting in District and building assessments. But man...when the 23rd rolls around will I be happy! Thankfully I get to make it down to the park next weekend (fingers crossed) and then again after Christmas for some much needed and overdue R&R. Maybe I might be able to find time and energy to do some gift shopping before Christmas (I am so worn out after my long days at school that I have bought 0 things so far :-\)
