Herschend had a random flurry of activity on their YouTube channel today. Interesting video posted regarding the economics of the theme park industry and how HFE makes capital decisions and handles "IP"

Was nice to see the Herschend CEO has been to SDC.

I'm halfway joking.

It sounds like he understands that long term success won't be found by chasing the latest greatest thrill ride. Not everyone on this forum gets that.

That piece is from the end of June. My family is actually in it.
We've met Andrew Wexler (Herschend CEO) a few times. He is super nice, down to earth, and authentic just like the Herschend and SDC leadership.

I finally watched the video, and it gave some great insight into how Herschend operates, and I'm glad that the comapany is committed to keeping the theme of the parks and improving guest experience. I heard in the video about the "virtual experiences" and how Herschend has to keep investing in the parks to make them better than a video game. I think a good way that they could engage in virtual experiences without cutting into the park experience would be to do a "virtual" SDC. I know that there are recreations of wdw and other parks in Minecraft, and Herschend could recreate SDC and Dollywood, and sell that on the Minecraft store. it would keep people engaging with the parks even at home, and would increase the likelihood of re-vists. virtual outlaw run will never be as good as the real thing, but its not feasible to visit the park more than a couple of times a year.
