I'm betting nothing or a vague more things coming soon for this project.

Probably will be mostly about the resort and season passes for next year, maybe a new show.

^ If nothing or little why would they go to the trouble of having a FanFest?

I actually agree with this. That announcement is pretty underwhelming. Usually they hype up their new rides but this fanfest has blah written all over it. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Oh, they'll have some interesting things to share if they are setting up a whole event. I'm guessing they'll be providing a sneak peak into the plans for the coming years. Probably going to pre-announce something big coming while also showing off all the festival changes/additions, minor new things, etc.

They may also announce that a ride is leaving in the near future. I don't think we'll see another FITH-style exact replacement, but rides like TNT, FM, and AP are clinging to life and don't seem to fit what corporate wants for the park anymore. Like I've said before, I expect them to continue replacing things with fancier modern versions. They may announce that 2026 is the last season for one of those rides. Just my guess.

I'm also guessing we'll see interior details of the resort and maybe some additional information about it.
I know interior renderings have been shown at a few speaking engagements, but they haven't been shared very publicly yet.

Sounds like the PTB wanted their own version of D23 which is what this supposedly is.

I got an email a couple of hours ago from SDC about the naming of a new family coaster being built.  The name choices were:

Miner's Rush
Prospector's Rush
Daredevil Railway

I was asked which name I preferred (I picked Miner's Rush) and which names fit in with the theme of the park.  I was then asked who I thought the name would appeal to (pre-teens, teens, adults, older adults, etc).  Then I was asked to put the names in order as 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice and I put them in the order above.  The first questions asked were if I and my family were season pass holders and to choose from the last 5 years if we had bought season passes (we have all 5 years).  Unfortunately this sounds like a T-N-T replacement to me.

BIG BEAR type ride which is a next generation TNT ride.

All 3 of those names suck but I would choose daredevil railway. Fits in with the daredevil narrative of AP. I could see them re-theming and restoring AP. It certainly needs it.

has there ever been a time an email survey accurately told us what a new additon was going to be?

Duelist

^ Not completely but at least this does tell us it will be a new family coaster.  That was the rumor we have been talking about but this seems to confirm it - whatever the name.  And I was encouraged that they asked which name seemed to fit the theme of SDC most and why.  I picked Miner's Rush as the 1st choice because that seemed to fit in most with an 1880s mining theme park.

I honestly don't think the email indicates a TNT replacement. Yes, it confirms the family coaster rumor, but none of these names feel like they fit very well; they feel cheesy and like six flags names. daredevil railway does hint at the rumor that the ride would continue the ozarkian daredevil storyline coming back. And just last year, park officials at the FITH media event reiterated their committment to keeping TNT open. That occured after the accident with the worker.
To be more specific, has an email survey ever included a name that ended up official?

I was at the City this weekend and took just a few pictures of the area directly west of the Lumbercamp (where the queue to the new ride will be???).  I'll be honest - I have no idea what I'm looking at, but it's clear that there is zero active work going on at the moment.

This is looking east towards the AP lift hill.

This is just to the north of the previous picture, along the Float Trip flume.  Are these old supports for a retaining wall?

This is the backside of the lumbercamp falls.  Again, no visible work in progress (and the waterfall is turned off).

And just for fun, here are two pictures of Christmas lights staged behind the rock shop and beside the old Fire in the Hole.

And here is a glamour shot that I took of the Mountain Size Cookie Sundae... only available at Tom Sawyer's treats (next to the carousel barn), if you can catch it open.

This was my only trip this season - just a quick getaway - but it's always a joy to be at the City.
