My hubs is learning yet another hobby; you know, as if wood carving wasn't enough!!   :)  He got a newsletter from IL Valley Blacksmith Assoc. in which he found this bit of info:

A full time seasonal (10 mo. per year) blacksmith job is available at SDC.  Looking for blacksmith with experience to make items for sale while demonstrating for guests.  Hourly wage as employee at SDC, tools supplied, items sold in retail store.  Hourly wage negotiable based on experience. If interested, contact HR at 417-338-2611. 

Now I wish he was better qualified!

I know, Sand!  I think that would be so cool!  (and, then the City could hire me as Education Director  ;D)  Seriously, that seems like a great opportunity.  The current blacksmith told us earlier that he picked it up as a hobby after he retired and moved to Branson.

When I was in high school and college, I wanted two things in life: to be a blacksmith, and to work at SDC. I never thought the chance for both wold come up.

Of course now, 30 years later, I'm in no position to do it.

YES!  My 500th post and I am finally a BLACKSMITH!!  Woot!  Woot!  (cheap thrills, cheap thrills - sorry!  Not!)  ;D
