I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are going out to you and your family/ those affected by this.

I have a 12 month old that developed some severe eye/vision problems in the last 2 days, and we are honestly freaking out. I do not mean to hijack any thread, but this could be pretty severe as suddenly as things happened, any prayers are appreciated. We are hoping to get into a strabismus specialist our pediatrician is sending us to tomorrow. Praying for the best. Thank you

Still praying for your family, Bobber. And yours also, Rube. My daughter had severe strabismus and had corrective surgery at age 2 1/2.  It turned out fine, so stay positive!  It's a scary thing when one's children must deal with medical issues. Keep us updated.

Thanks Gilligan, today's Dr. appt really did nothing but make us worry more now that we know the possibilities of what the cause could be. Our little one is definitely suffering from an acute strabismus caused by a nerve problem. Now we have to put her under for an MRI (so worried about this step) and also praying the outcome is just a virus that is effecting her nerve, nothing worse. They say it is just to "rule out" brain injury/ stroke/ tumor, but I am always wondering what they really are saying. Our doc called tonight and told us not to read anything on the internet...too late, did that yesterday. Keep the prayers coming for our little Mac.

Rube you are not hijaking the thread so don't worry about that :) We are all a family here and I am more than happy to share a thread with any one of you. I only wish that the circumstances were different. Prayers for your family as you embark on this journey, and I hope that the doctors can find a fix for the situation you are facing. God Bless you and your family and all of you that have given us your thoughts and prayers over the last few days.

We got the results from the Brain stem and Brain MRI, and it everything checked out fine. This more than likely means that it was not a brain injury/ and or tumor that caused her strabismus, but instead a virus that needs to run its' course. Until then we will have to patch her good eye for several hours a day, but thank you to all of you who prayed for her along the way.

Daughter Update: My 15mth old had double eye surgery today to alleviate the double vision/ crossed eye-strabismus in her Left eye she has had since October. It was about a 2 hour outpatient surgery, and we should know within the next 5-6 weeks if the surgery was a success and if it will need to be repeated. This is mainly why I have not been too active on the boards over the last 3 months.
