You might find that you are asking yourself this in the next few months...and this should clear it up!

It has been one of those years. I am trying to think about where another year has gone, and boy have I been busy! I have been trying to keep up with my Wayback thread, as well as the Where in the city game. I know this is Announcements, but I firstly want to apologize for the change in the amount of my activity as of lately.

My main reason for the lack of activity on the site has been that my wife and I have added to the SDC fanbase. Next season I will be finding out how strollers fit onto trams, how to fight crowds and the elements with a baby, and how the park feels while showing my daughter for the first time. We welcomed our first child in October, and man has it been a busy couple of weeks!

I have also begun a new position teaching a new class at school (one that involves extensive amounts of planning to help students reach their potential) and this has taken a great amount of my time. Also I took a new position at school as the Information Web Specialist (Webmaster) which entails a lot of work building the full site by Jan. 3, 2012. One semester on top of the other stuff was barely enough time (I just finished it this afternoon!).

I have 2 big artworks (portraits) to begin this winter, and I am finishing up another for a pretty big client. I am working with Rich on the QSCR logos and designs, and I have 2-3 book ideas to sort out details on, as well as a few bucket list things I would like to begin.

The next few months I will be continuing to learn to be a Daddy while trying to work on some of my other wants/ needs. I might not be too active Jan-Mar, but I plan on resuming my duties, and pages when the season starts in 2012. I will have my email updates active, and if anything comes up that I want to add to, I will jump on in! If you need my send me a message!

Have a great weekend and bring in the new year safely.

You didn;\'t miss anything Sanddune! A few people on here that are also on my Facebook knew about the baby, but I just hadn't positing anything on here yet!

Strollers suck getting on and off the trams and usually hold things up a bit. And if you are like my husband you will find this highly embaressing.  ::) It will be so great to see a new face at the City. If you need anything give us a hollar. Its what friends are for!!

Junior

Well congratulations Rube and family! You will find now that a child has joined the family that you will have less and less time for some of your pet projects and plans. However, you are a talented and hard working guy, so I know you will be able to fit some time in as  you can. Best to you all!

Well Congratulations Rube! You should have told us sooner!!
Thanks for all of your post, pictures, and games; I have greatly enjoyed all of them!
Good luck with everything & Congrats once again.  :)
You have a great past just ahead of you.

Congrats Rube! That is indeed great news and a true blessing to you as well as a very legitimate excuse for some absenteeism.

The smaller strollers that fold up (usually without a roof) are not big deal on the trams, the larger ones are. I have from time to time rented one from the park, I think it's around $12, to avoid the hassle. They are very nice, roll very well have a "convertible" top that can be up or down as well as pockets that our mugs fit in perfectly. I wouldn't be surprised however if you didn't already have one of these somewhere in your collection.  ;D

May God bless you and your family as you enter this new stage of life.

Awesome, congrats rube! Don't wear yourself out, I've been witnessing first hand how much work it takes to raise an infant from my new nephew recently. I don't envy the effort it takes, but obviously it pays off!

rubedugans

Yeah it should be an adventure. 31 yrs ago my parents started a yearly pilgrimage to SDC with my sister and I, and I will be doing the same for my little girl, even if my SDC collection was demoted to the basement seeing that we needed to create a nursery for her!

Well Larson I think now I need to get a hold of one of the current or even retired strollers for my collection huh?

Duelist

Congratulations Rube!  Our son was born in March of 1996 and his first trip was in July of '96.  His first ride was the Flooded Mine and he still likes it.  Of course now he outshoots me so that's not as much fun.  ;)

Congrats rube,  my wife and I had our first child (a boy) in November and I can't wait to take him to SDC for the first time next October.  I admire your ability to do so much with this site and in your personal life.  With a new baby in the house I can't seem to do much besides go to work, come home, sleep and then start it all over again.  If "where in the city" or "wayback machine" were up to me we'd get maybe 3 or 4 updates per year....thanks for all your hard work and enjoy the next few months.  We'll see you back here when the city opens in 2012!

Congratulations, Rube! I understand how life gets so busy and I don't even have kids! College is keeping me extremely busy. It's hard to fit in everything that I want to do!!
