As I recall "Dippin' Dots" were origianlly called "Thunder Dots" when Thunderation was first opened.  The kiosk was just outside the entrance to the ride.  I feel like they tried to theme the ice cream into the park a little better to start with.  I like them ok,  it's the novelty of it.  I'm sure legally they had to change the name to the brand "Dippin' Dots".  I still find myself calling them "Thunder Dots".

I am a Root Beer afficianado.I have sampled literally over one hundred varierties, and I cannot pass up a new Root Beer without sampling it.

I love it too -- I'd love to try the real thing, but it's banned by both the FDA and DEA.

I've had the sassafrass tea (now safrole free since it was found to be carcinogenic since 1960). It was good, tasted like a flat sarsaparilla soda-a bit less sugary. All root beers now use the root beer, or safrole free extracts so drink up!

There is a local spice shop here that if one really wanted, they sould buy sassafrass root...
