Could the restaurant be Candlestick Inn at Branson? I  seem to remember a "party" scene that was shot in Kimberling City, and it's possible that was done at a lakeview/lakeside restaurant there. If you closely view that scene, you'll see probably a half dozen SDC employees. Like I said in a previous post, one of the boys from Rube Dugan's Diving Bell, Ken Fowler, is in that shot, and a few others.

Did anyone catch the Amtrak train racing through downtown? Obvious stock film added for effect. Too bad Branson doesn't have Amtrak service.  Why were they racing to the airport when they could have just caught that Amtrak train? (oh it was in the script) LOL.  Weak film, great positive values presented and great photography.

A lady named Irene Coger was also in this movie.  If anyone went to or has been to a play or musical at Missouri State University the theatre is named after her.  She taught at the school for over twenty years.  A little off the subject- Coger  theatre is in Craig hall which is named after Virginia Craig, also a teacher at MSU, Craig used to walk from Springfield to Branson every summer to spend time at Presbyterian Hill.  Other teachers joined Craig including Mary Woods who today has a dorm named after her.  Sorry, just always wondered what it would be like to walk from Springfield to Branson, especially with the roads that existed back then.

Amtrak would be nice!

Netflix must be going crazy trying to find other Janet Daily movies to add because of all the people viewing Foxfire Light.

It gave some pretty sappy suggestions. None of which I will be taking them up on! Now if they had suggestions for Branson movies instead of Romatic Dramas, I would be happy!

watched the movie,  some nice shots of scenery.. some nice "other" shots also..

wasnt overly impressed.

 but was interesting watching downtown branson, looking for familar buildings.

saw several filming errors, but oh well it is an old movie...

Another big inconsistency on imdb is that it links the Ed Marshal, who was in it, has been linked to a porn star by the same name.  Several SOTH actors can be seen in the background scenes like at the square dance.

I just watched it last week, and I was surprised at a few lines that were realllly close to lines from the SOTH play. Example: the reference to "no telling how much 'would be if'n it were rolled out flat." when talking about 40 acres. 

I wish I could remember the other overlaps.

I forgot to mention who Ed is in my last post.  I'll bet everyone on here has seen him! 
He was the guy in the White Water commercial that said, "palm trees in Branson.". He
Played Buck Thompson at SOTH, and he was THE Mean Murphy in the Silver Dollar Saloon.

In the movie, he is sitting with Mike Coffelt who played Lem Wheeler at Shepherd. 

In the square dance scene, watch for these characters from Shepherd, too:  the sheriff (who was also the stagecoach driver at SDC many years ago, one
Of the Dad Howitts, and several others.

I've been watching this in bits and pieces over the last few nights, and I finally got to about 1:13, and spotted Arkie Phillips!

Wow, what a Branson legend he was.
