We were released at 12:20 today- they amended the schedule, and had to serve all lunches , otherwise we would have been out @ 10:30-11:00. Right now there is between 1/8-1/4" of ice on everything and it is still raining. I am assuming with "SNOWPOCALYPSE" we will be out a few days if they have predicted correctly.

We got out at 12:15 today.  So UN-typical to get out early I didn't believe my kids when they told me the news.  Of course the office never called to tell me.  Nah. Let the teachers find it out from the kids  ::)

They updated the prediction maps again... we're looking at around 22" of snow now by Wednesday.  Yeah that's going to suck.

Light mist and 36 degrees.  It's been pretty much the same all day.  Nothing freezing has started yet, but school is out.  This'll be day four, then five, six, seven...

Schools are canceling tomorrow in my area tonight, but nothing has started yet.  My school hasn't called off school yet.

History Buff

I couldn't believe we called it before there was any physical evidence of the storm.

My school (which never calls off for anything) called off already for tomorrow.

Channel 17 goes a bit overboard sometimes, IMHO. However this time they're not alone:

I'm going to hi-jack this thread and make it into a general weather thread, if that's all right.

I'm currently in and out right now watching the thunder-sleet come down. I've never seen so much lighting during and ice storm before. It's funny seeing all the meteorology majors come out of the woodwork with their camera equipment to capture every detail of the storm.

^Foul!  Get your own thread.  :P  Oh yeah, the site is yours.  Well then, OK.  In that case, welcome.

If anyone is wondering, StaceySue will now be able to join us on our snow day.

^Please use the dedicated weather thread for discussions about weather other than "Snow Days" for teachers.  Thank you.
