What do you do when Silver Dollar City is closed?

1. Farmhouse Restaurant - yummy chicken fried steak!

2. Dick's 5 and 10 - always walk out with a treasure!

3. Go Karts! It's become a tradition. I wouldn't recommend the lumberjack one with the two towers because it's nothing but a lot of right turns.

4. Driving around Indian Point looking at all the resorts and reminiscing about the places we've stayed in the past.

5. We went to Shepherd of the Hills last year and it was reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyy lame. You'd think it would get better since they do a million shows a day.

6. Ride the Ducks is a lot of fun but not something we do every time.

That's all I've got - not quite 10! I've got a few places I want to try out. If you have any input, please let me know!

1. The homestead tours at Shepherd of the Hills or any of the other activities there besides the show.

2. Wine tasting at Stone Hill Winery

3. Visit the College of the Ozarks.

#3
1. Just crusing around at night (at 5 m.p.h. because of traffic) and looking at all the amazing lights and people on the strip.

2. Famous Dave's BBQ at the Landing.

3. Fountain and fire show/shopping at the Landing.

4. Titanic Museum

5. Go-karts are always a must!

6. White Water (except I haven't been there in years)

7. Cakes & Cream Dessert Parlor! I love this place!!!!!

8. Favorite hotel: Radisson. I think the Radisson is the one where you can swim under a wall in the indoor pool to go outside, if my memory serves me correctly. It is always fun to swim outside on those 50 degree nights!

9. Favorite show: SIX or The Presley's. I've always wanted to go see Yakov also.

10. Miniature golf!! I like Pirates Cove and the dinosaur place (forget the name) the best.
"May there always be a Silver Dollar City..."

KBCraig

1. Settle in at the cabin and vow to not drive anywhere for any reason short of a medical emergency.
2. Enjoy a nice evening with the family and go to bed.

History Buff

I do enjoy a visit below the Table Rock Dam, at the head end of Taneycomo.  We'll take a little walk along the bank, watching the fly fishermen, casting in slow motion, early on a foggy morning, when suddenly a flock of ducks flaps by, tips of wings barely caressing the still waters as they careen through the cloud.  It's like the perfect watercolor painting, and you'd swear it was all made up, but it's not - it's real.  And it's been right there the whole time.
Always SEEKING Memories Worth Repeating

(In no particular order...just how they come to me)

1.  Looking at all the billboards as we drive along, some of them very, very, very, very old which makes me smile

2.  Dick's 5 & 10

3.  Famous Dave's BBQ at the Branson Landing.

4.  Walking along the bottom side of the Landing at night feeling the chill come off the White River after a hot day and reminiscing of the time before the Landing existed when I would do the same thing with my car window rolled down (there used to be a road that ran right where you walk now).

5.  Checking out all the junk and second hand shops off the main road downtown Branson.

6.  OZARKLAND!!!!

7.  Dinner at the Lotus Blossom across from Ozarkland.  A tried and true old SDC citizen hang out.

8.  Running through the Blue Top and Red Top malls and remembering the good old days when my mom would drag us to them.  I almost like going there now even though the Red Top is depressing.  Once again forcing me into a fit of nostalgia.

9.  Driving through Acorn Acres camp ground where I lived for years while working at the City.

10.  Making at least one lap around the backroads and seeing what has changed.
You've Got A Great Past Just Ahead Of You!
