It's been about 7 years since we have visited SDC and it looks like a lot has changed! My husband and I will be visiting the park next weekend and want to make the most of it. I would love to know what other couples have enjoyed doing most at SDC. I have been reading through threads all day and I'm getting very excited! One thing I haven't had luck finding was updated information on storage lockers. Some older threads I found said various rides had cubby holes and some said you must rent lockers that are only available in certain areas. Being that we will both be riding all rides together, there will be no one will be around to hold our wallets, sunglasses, phones, etc. From reading, it sounds as if most rides will not let you take "loose articles" such as these on the rides..which I understand. Does anyone have any advice or information on lockers? I was really hoping the rides that wouldn't allow loose articles would have rental lockers onsite so that we don't have to keep running back and forth to our locker all day.  :-[
Any tips for making the most of our day at SDC would be greatly appreciated!!!

Welcome to the group megpie!!

if you were at the city 7 years ago, then not much has changed.. all the rides that had cubby holes then, still do..
The lockers up above are still there,
Not sure what River Blast has, but someone here will know..
Of course the new coaster has the paid lockers, they are a 1 time use. Although last week someone posted that with small amounts of people, they were letting everyone stack their items on nearby barrels and stuff(I dont think I would count on that)..

Have a great trip..

Thank you for the welcome, well wish and information Sanddunerider! I'm looking forward to our visit.

Basically all the rides have cubbies. Except:

River Blast has an enclosed box on the ride that you put your things in.

Lost River has no cubbies; you must take your stuff with you on the ride.

Outlaw Run has no cubbies. There are lockers just outside the ride. $1 gets you 2 hours, and it's an additional charge for every hour after that, BUT opening the locker ends your rental. Yesterday the ride attendants were taking cups and cellphones without making you get a locker, but that is no guarantee for the future.

I'm pretty sure there are lockers in other locations on the park, but I know not where or how much they cost.
"Red Flanders, you come back in here and put on your pants!" "Well Sadie, I ain't got no pants no more. The dang Baldknobbers stole 'em!"

There are lockers outside of Lost River that cost... either 25 or 50 cents, can't remember exactly.

Flooded Mine is a nice place for a few minutes of getaway time for couple who want to neck. (Hey, dark rides started with "The Tunnel of Love") Ha! ;)
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

Do they still have the lockers up by the stroller rental? And Lost River does have cheap lockers.
The smell of asphalt and butane says home!

Two words: cargo pockets.

Two more words for potentially wet rides: ziploc baggies
