I'll be in Eureka Springs today and tomorrow so waft some of those SDC aromas over to me. See you in October, SDC! Wish I could be there today! We are traveling today and are about to stop at Cracker Barrel. Is that easing the pain or adding salt to the wound?

25 min till they drop the rope.
Wish I was there.

SO envious of ya'll who are there today. Stupid college for having Spring Break so early that it didn't line up with SDC Spring Break Days... *mumbles*

And what a BEAUTIFUL day weather-wise for Opening Day! Wow.

Saw this story on twitter: http://www.ky3.com/news/ky3-tourism-officials-hope-big-silver-dollar-city-opening-day-is-good-omen-for-2011-20110317,0,94779.story?track=rss&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter SDC had 8,000 people within the first couple of hours on opening day and I saw on Facebook that attendance got up to about 13,000! I haven't seen anyone comment on the wait for rides. Were the lines long?

sanddunerider

WOW!  thats a pretty impressive number for opening day on a thursday.

If i remember on their 50th weekend they had about 15,000 per day.
so 13,000 is a very respectable number,

PTB have to be happy with that turnout!

Junior

Numbers were good on opening day. Lines at FITH all the way back to saloon. Powderkeg and Train and Flooded Mine lines all very long too.
