I completely disagree on everything said here. I have been on 20ish of the river rapid rides and Mystic River is a top 2 or 3 for me. I went with a group of 8 people a couple of months ago and every one was soaked to the point that they wished that they brought other shoes.

If you want to see a dry water ride then I would point to Bello Bay Cruise at Universal Kids Resort. I rode that one a handful of times and didn't get wet at all unless you are counting the squirting guns on the bridges.

The cool thing is, nobody is forcing anyone to go to SDC or like their rides.  If you don't like them or just love to hate on or complain about the park, don't go and don't worry about it.  Problem solved.  I've been going to SDC since I was a kid and I am in my mid-50s.  Nothing would ever get me this worked up about anything involving the park.  I live 4 hours away and go to the park anywhere from 6-8 times a year. I enjoy our visits, our now-adult kids love going and that's all that matters and why we still go.  If you hate it or hate the current leadership then quit going and quit coming on this site to b*tch about it. 

Sorry, I am not a frequent poster, but have been on this site for many years.  I usually just enjoy the posts, trip reports and speculation, but this site has gotten freaking childish the past few months.

I whole heartedly agree. Sadly I won't ride MRF anymore because I just get too darned wet. And there is virtually no way to NOT get your shoes completely drenched.

My family and I have learned to pack flip flops in our backpack. We just swap into them right before getting in line. It's been amazing.
